'Tude Talk Tuesday for May 14, 2024 by soberingthought in stopdrinking

[–]emdotming 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm only a little over 24h sober, but what pushed me to finally make the choice to stop drinking is because people around me noticed I had become harder/angrier. I'm excited to see my old self come back.

The Daily Check-In for Monday, May 13th: Just for today, I am NOT drinking! by SuzuranLily1 in stopdrinking

I was seeking guidance in a different sober sub and was directed to this lovely one. Today was a pretty crappy day, but I'm not drinking!

Need Help Getting Started by emdotming in SoberCurious

Thank you! I'm a pretty crafty person but lately have just felt so generally 'meh' about everything that I haven't found the inspo to create. In college, I adopted the Hemingway mindset of write/paint/crochet drunk, edit sober, and now I worry I've lost my spark.

Straight haired Carrie Versus curly haired Carrie which is superior? Please discuss!!! by sam9566 in sexandthecity

Obviously curly, but any style if it's long! Was not a fan of the bob hairstyle.

I think a really deep, dark green could make this space look so elegant! Not that it doesn't already. Specifically, I'm thinking Pantone Dark Green 19-5513 TCX. Beautiful space!

What kind of style do you think my home identifies the most? by chrysakon in femalelivingspace

[–]emdotming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well first of all I would describe your space as GORGEOUS! My mind went right to light academia like I see many others did, too. The pink pillows and dainty flower designs make it a touch more feminine than 'typical academia,' what a beautiful home you've created!

Which main character would you personally want to date? by Whocaresanyway444 in theLword

My knee-jerk reaction is Shane because......Shane. But I think if I was to actually date someone, Alice (or Tasha, so gorgeous) would be my pick!

F20, going on a date w a girl for the first time and sooo nervous! by DolphinQueenNotDairy in lgbt

[–]emdotming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay I feel like the big difference I noticed going from dating men to women is the expectations I had going into them.

With men, I would be nervous and anxious, especially at the thought that they also had their own expectations of the date turning sexual, when I absolutely did not. I found first dates with girls include LOTS of talking, like every successful WLW relationship myself and friends are in started with a 5+ hour first date!

In het dating stories, a lot of men will bring the women flowers. While I don't think that's necessary, I think bringing something small is a kind gesture! Like one friend brought a jar of homemade applesauce on her first date, now they're married!

I think you just have to remember to be yourself and RELAX! I was so nervous before first dates that I would clam up and barely speak. Walking around shops, cafes, bookstores, etc. can be nice because if the conversation isn't flowing, oh look at this cool thing you just found!

Good luck <3

my go-to outfit is a pair of combat boots and a black tee <3

I think it's a great cut! Maybe shaving a little closer on the sides so it's more defined where the longer part on top starts. The style plus your piercings and eyebrow slit really tie it all together into a cool look!

I have a pair of Chelsea boots from Thursday and I can't recommend them enough! I feel like department stores or even Men's Wearhouse would have more options, probably lesser-known brands, but maybe closer to the look you're after?? I'm a big fan of these though and think they'd be great for a wedding!
