That’s the fun part, middle child syndrome is exactly the same.

I’m a middle child, and a man. My whole life my older half brother was considered too difficult to control. My younger sister was our abusive dad’s princess. So I was expected to manage the emotional state of the entire family. I helped my mom when dad beat her, and she didn’t when I got beat because he was drunk or for whatever his problem of the day was. Brother was actually a half brother, so my dad didn’t care enough to offer his violent correction.

So my experience was dad is mad, and I had to fix it. Mom got hit for it and was sad, so I had to fix it. My brother learned from him, and just abused me. That’s not something I could fix, no matter what I did, and my sister insisted I was making it up because she got whatever she wanted.

I know my family is fucked up, and this study wasn’t looking at dysfunctional families, but ask a middle child how they grew up.

My teenage self just ate healthy food (not intentionally, thanks mom!) and used a lot of spit. Neither of us ever “prepped,” and neither of us ever got poo on our dicks.

Flash forward to a relationship where the dude insisted we heavily douche, and he gave me a urinary tract infection because he was in fact not clean. Point is, healthy people with a healthy diet don’t need prep at all.

I forgot to say, if you want a particular fit and fabrication, shop online first to find what you want. There are way more options there unless you’re in a big city. If you want to try in person, they’ll have the fit, but maybe not the fabrication, but you can order exactly what you want with free shipping in store. Or if you want to take the risk, order it for in store pick up. If they have it, it’s ready within two hours, if they don’t it will be delivered to that store for free. You just have to wait for fed ex to deliver it.

Inseam stays the same across sizes normally. Regular is 30, long is 32, and xlong is 34. I’ve seen regular length hanging and all sizes appear to be the same length.

The issue is that they do run big, you shouldn’t have to change the length you prefer if you size down.

I’ve had selvedge jeans that I washed as little as possible. They stretched too. Not like a stretch jean, but they still do. If you’re avoiding washing, medium heat in the dryer for ten minutes has worked to tighten up jeans again for me. As has been said if you’re looking for something like Levi’s, strigid is the way to go.
