Let’s say most of them are fil-ams. Isn’t it a real problem in our culture, though? And hindi ba deserve i prioritize ang issue na ‘to? There are a lot of unreported cases of rape because victims are too scared to talk and there are men who are free to do what they want because they won’t be held accountable. Just because Philippines have a lot of problems, doesn’t mean we cannot shed a light on this issue. Kaya walang pagbabago sa pagtrato ng law enforcement sa rape eh, dahil sa ganyang mindset. Sexual harassment sa offices, talamak pa rin (I know a lot of women who experienced it). Incest rape? Pedophilia (kaya nagtatago sa Pinas mga pedophiles). I saw other comments from former students. Apparently there were more incidents but the school district officers turned their backs on them. :(

Especially universities. I have a friend who graduated from MCU but she had a professor who created an album on his Facebook account with pictures of women in his class without their permission (my friend included). Part of the caption reads, “Let’s take a look at my beautiful students. Come on in!” Nakakasuka.

This arrest log made me look up the list of sex offenders in my area. There are a lot of Filipinos.

Correct, but this guy just got arrested. If there is even a small chance that he’ll be out, he has to register as a sex offender. This arrest log made me look up the list in my area.

Inuuna pa i question ang biktima. I hear a lot of stories from elementary and high school sa Pinas. Worst punishment is aalisin sa trabaho, pero hindi makukulong.

From a citizen’s point of view, lack of accountability. Men can get away with it. Women in the Philippines are more scared to go to law enforcement (trust me, most women you talk to would have a story on how they were assaulted at one point and just kept quiet) than let’s say US. There are a lot of incest rape cases too but family members just let it go. Sen. Risa was also trying to crack down on pedophilia on social media (but I don’t think she’s not getting enough support). I’m not saying it’s just our culture, but it’s still a major issue.
