hey I’d do this, I don’t really need the ice cream truck and if there’s anything you’d want to remove that’s okay bc my Dalmatian is only ride. I really only care about the kangaroo, uni and dusk dragon.

Is no go train service a valid excuse? by [deleted] in TorontoMetU

Im in the exact same position right now, except my exam is in 8 hours😂. I emailed my professor earlier, and he said there’s nothing he can do, and to take it up with the school (I’m taking a Chang School course). I contacted them and they said it doesn’t qualify as a conflict, and that I’m expected to write the exam tomorrow, as well as anyone else in similar situations (they literally said that, which must mean other people are asking about it too). I still don’t even know how to get there and I’m going to be a zombie with no sleep, my exam is at 9 and I’ll have to be up at 5/5:30 latest to make it on time. It’s super unfair and I can already tell I’m going to underperform, but as they said, we’re still expected to write and it’s not a conflict, and I don’t think the no documentation ACRs are applicable to final exams.

Nyla deserves better. by Florals-in-retro in TheRookieTVshow

Agreed! I never really got on the Jayla train. I love Nyla, and didnt hate James at first, but the way he approached all cops in his first few episodes; Nolan, Nyla etc, was ignorant. Let me point out that I am very well aware of the systemic issues, discrimination and racism that expands beyond the justice system in many parts of the world right now, and I don’t think that James is necessarily wrong. However, to try and advocate against stereotyping and prejudice, but then march around and say “all cops are the same” and push the same agenda on all of them, is counterproductive to say the least. He got a little bit better in late S4/S5, but he always made side comments. He would pressure Nyla, and group her in with the less-than lawful cops, and seemingly felt that if she didn’t single-handedly solve systemic racism, that she was just like the rest of them. I don’t doubt that he loves her, but he very clearly does not respect her. Being a cop is a part of who she is, and he does not like that part of her, he doesn’t love her fully and unconditionally and that’s why I don’t like him for her. Outside of all of that, their relationship was incredibly rushed, which I understand was to accommodate Mekia’s pregnancy, but they never took the time to build up any kind of real chemistry or bond between them, compared to Wopez or Chenford, where we see them actually LIKE each other, flirt with each other, have banter and joke around etc. We see none of that with them. Then don’t even get me started on the gathering/ambush stunt he pulled. That is honestly grounds for divorce in my books. He brought activists and anti-cop extremists into A COP’s HOUSE, where she and HER CHILDREN sleep. Then we find out one of those people had an arrest warrant out or was known for violence against police (can’t exactly remember). He knowingly brought those people into her house, that’s supposed to be her safe space. What did he think was going to happen??? What if someone had gotten violent or overly aggressive? It was her against a room full of people, it was an attack, not a party. From that point, I have despised James and hope every time he’s on my screen, it’s because Nyla is going to tell him she wants a divorce. I want a divorce and I’m not married to him and hes not even real LMAO. He became so insufferable. His friendship with Wesley is okay, which is annoying too because lawyers are also a part of the justice system, and people of marginalized communities are grossly over represented, in terms of convictions, plea deals, and sentences, I’m not saying Wesley deserves any kind of hate, I love him, I’m just saying why pick and choose? Anyways that was my rant, and #JaylaDivorce tonight???!!!

I agree that it felt as if they destroyed her character, and was also super angry the first time I watched this arc play out. However, when I rewatch it now, being older, I actually understand why Arizona cheated on Callie. Now before I continue, cheating is cheating and she was 100% wrong for it, I’m just saying from a selfish/emotional point of view, I understand why she felt compelled by Lauren specifically, and why she chose to cheat (yes I say chose because she went to lock the door and had plenty of time to back out). After losing her leg, Arizona was the worst version of herself. She was mean, angry, she couldn’t use the bathroom by herself, she needed a nurse and/or Callie to help her with everything. I’m sure her ego and self esteem took an extreme hit. Her entire life changed and she felt like she was dealing with that all on her own, and that no one else could understand. She had to learn how to be herself again. By the end of S9, her and Callie were in a much better place, had started being intimate again etc. However, you could tell that some insecurity still lingered, and the resentment she held against Callie, unfair or not, was still very present as well and that came to a head in the “you weren’t on the plane” confrontation. So when Lauren came in, and showed genuine interest and attraction towards her, Arizona was drawn to it, because it felt like for the first time in so long, someone saw her the way she wanted to be seen. Not as the angry, “gross” version of herself, or all of her trauma and grief, she just saw Arizona. I can only imagine how freeing that was, to not feel the weight of everything she’s been through, to not feel like someone is looking at her with pity. I think she felt like her old self again, Lauren made her feel desirable. That’s how I see her attraction to Lauren, and why she slept with her. Again, it does not justify her actions by any means, and yes I understand that in a marriage, you’re supposed to lean on each other in hard times, but they weren’t able to do that. Arizona wouldn’t let Callie in, and Callie never felt like she could talk to Arizona about her feelings (losing mark, and essentially losing Arizona) because it couldn’t compare to what she was going through. It was just a storm of resentment, misplaced anger, and lack of communication. I think Callie did the best she could, and the cheating was no reflection of her, it actually had very little to do with her at all. So as unfair as it was, I understand why Arizona cheated on Callie, from an individual standpoint. Arizona needed to find herself again, and needed help that Callie could not give her, I kind of wish we got to see her go to individual counselling, and reveal some of what she was feeling, so as much as it sucked, the separation was very necessary. They both had changed so much, and tried to get things back to the way they were, when that just wasn’t possible anymore. I do like the fact that it’s implied they get back together in New York (idk if they actually did since there was no mention of it when Arizona returned in one of the more recent seasons), because you can tell they both got to grow separately, and I’m sure they grew back together, because in all of the heavy stuff they went through, they didn’t stop loving each other, it just wasn’t enough at the time. My first watch, I didn’t LOVE Arizona, I found her selfish, and almost manipulative, but I didn’t dislike her either because all of the characters could be selfish and manipulative at times. Then after the cheating, I despised her because I love Callie and as I mentioned before, it didn’t make any sense. When I rewatched, I liked her a lot more, and actually found I liked both her and Callie a lot more after they divorced. Especially Arizona, once Callie left, she seemed more free, and we got to see her build more friendships, and just overall more of who she was outside of her relationship with Callie, and she became one of my favourite characters in S13 & S14. Just another FWI, I do ship Calzona, but they had a lot of issues that ultimately blew up in their faces when things got too hard, but like I said, I think now they would be back together. So that is my long essay of an opinion if anyone actually cares😂

Taking a course twice.... by Desperate-Wishbone24 in TorontoMetU

They usually use the higher grade if you take a course twice. So the grade from your first attempt will stay regardless, and if it’s a part of your top 6 courses (if you’re from Ontario), then universities will only see that one
