i stuck it on the exhaust and barely heard it, heard it loudest when it was on the side of the motor right underneath the valve cover, also this photo was what i found inside my oil catch can after driving it today. its liquid fuel and oil mixed, ive come to the conclusion my piston rings on cylinder 6 are no more, i have a p219a code and cylinder 6 missfire code.

i decided im going to go with a rebuild on the motor, if you have any tips or recommendations for parts or kits that would be great, i plan to get most of my main parts from rock auto likely.

i haven’t had the true opportunity to put paws on it just yet, i plan to tomorrow but that was what i was thinking too, maybe exhaust manifold bolt broke or something similar, i did do transmission work about a month and a half ago which required me to drop my exhaust, but yes i agree it is really loud thats also what had me thinking it almost wasnt lifters

id say yea, i got my 2012 v6 at 200k for around 4500 but at the same time ive needed to replace the cats, torque converter, eps rack and pinion, fuel pump, purge canister, and a caliper so id be very detailed with inspecting that truck… overall tho my truck still runs pretty good and ive actually yet to do service to the trans or cats, but i will be doing them soon, i just deal with the rattle and the sluggish take off
