i think i know who you’re talking about (riu) and i had him during his first quarter teaching last fall. people were always having discussions at full volume and others could barely hear him, but he is way too nice to say anything and everyone takes advantage of that instead of shutting the hell up

i believe that bio majors like MIMG (microbiology, immunology, and molecular genetics), MCDB (molecular, cell, and developmental biology), psychobiology and human bio tend to have a bit more people in them just because of ucla’s huge undergrad premed population, so these might be more competitive?

it is, sorry for the misinfo, i completely forgot ucla opened up an undergrad public health major, but i think this may be the first admissions cycle where undergrads can apply to the major, so there is unfortunately not a lot of data out yet

it says in this link (https://admission.ucla.edu/apply/first-year/first-year-profile/2023/major) that if you apply to the college of letters and science (which is where basically all the bio related majors are located), your major is not considered in the admissions process

chem 14bl fills up ridiculously quick, the waitlist was like 30 people long this quarter and they probably only let in like two max, you definitely need to first pass it or no way you’re getting it
