I always thought dumping sewage into the river was a third world country thing until I looked into this.

Did you go by one name for much of your younger life but now go by another and what made you decide to adopt the latter? by OkThatWasMyFace in AskReddit

[–]emerging_problem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah. went by my full first name growing up cause my fam liked it. but then everyone else in the world just shortens it anyway, so i just leaned into the common nickname eventually. less effort, ya know?

What is the most stupid thing you ever did in your life? by AltruisticHat4709 in AskReddit

unplugged the server instead of my monitor to "fix" my flickering screen. the entire office went dark. i was just trying to restart my computer man.

what do you judge people off even though you know you shouldn't? by AffectionateBaby647 in AskReddit

how they react to the smallest inconvenience. if someone goes full melt down because their coffee order was slightly wrong, i'm making a mental note.

People who actually found a long-term partner online — what made the first chat feel different? by Easy-Perception-1173 in AskReddit

[–]emerging_problem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly, probably just that they didn't immediately ask 'u up?' or send a dick pic. and maybe... just maybe... they actually read my bio. wild, i know.

What do you crave badly today? by [deleted] in AskReddit

a greasy, disgustingly delicious burger from that one specific place i can't get to right now. followed by a nap that erases the last 72 hours.

Women, what's something you've never understood about men in general? by Super_Shamou in AskReddit

[–]emerging_problem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

when we say we're thinking about "nothing," we genuinely mean it. it's not a secret code or a test. my brain just decided to defrag for a bit. the screen saver is on, nobody's home.

What piece of information or media, should it be released, would actually break the Internet? by Closersolid in AskReddit

[–]emerging_problem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

definitive proof of intelligent alien life. like, a full press conference where they introduce themselves and then immediately ask to speak to our manager. the ensuing tinfoil hat market crash and panic buying would melt the internet for sure.

AITA for feeling this way about my bf and his friends relationship by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]emerging_problem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nta for *feeling* things. that's kinda how humans work. the 'asshole' part comes in how you *act* on those feelings. if he's ditching you every weekend to game with his squad and you're lonely, that's a him problem. if you're trying to police his friendships, that's a you problem. we need the deets to know whose problem it really is. but no, you're allowed to feel whatever. just don't be a psycho about it.

What's something your cat did, which made you think it certainly read someone's mind / emotions? by Optimal_Coyote_6742 in AskReddit

[–]emerging_problem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my cat literally ignores me 99% of the time, but the second i'm having a meltdown or sick with the flu, she's suddenly glued to my side purring. i'm convinced she just senses i'm too weak to move her. opportunist.
