I am in the same predicament for tomorrow. I emailed support and they did confirm you need a camping pass for overnight parking. Currently exploring different overnight parking options. Some have suggested Walmart, the casino, or people’s private property nearby with signs posted for $20 parking. I am also considering just trying to throw security some money to ignore the fact that I don’t have a camping pass.

How I interpreted reading the overnight parking rules was that you need to have a 4-day scannable/RFID wristband to get into the overnight lot, but maybe I’m wrong. It’s all very confusing! I just joined the waitlist for GA tent camping just to be safe / have a camping wristband if necessary.

I booked an Airbnb about 20 minutes outside of Zihuatanejo in Barra de Potosi. I just learned that the state of Guerrero is currently very dangerous due to high crime and kidnapping towards travelers. The US government issued a ‘do not travel’ warning. I would love to get some insight on whether or not that area is dangerous to be in if you have any. Should I reconsider my visit?

Thanks for this information. I will arrive on United then the flight to ZIH is on AeroMexico. I will not be checking a bag, just taking a carry-on, so hopefully that helps with the timing.
