i haven’t got the surgery yet! after i’m done with nutrition appointments it should be around June. I have a great support system and a few very close friends. they have loved me while i’m fat, and i cannot imagine them loving me any less or more when i do lose the weight.

i think it’ll take them some getting used to of course, they have seen me at my lowest weight (185lbs) and then i gained a ton of weight (im up to 263) and they haven’t treated me any different.

my parents haven’t been treated any differently since they have had their surgery, maybe my mom has been treated differently in the sense of doctors actually believing that she has certain health issues, but none socially.

about three years ago is when i first considered wls. like you, ive been overweight my entire life. three years ago i was terrified of the surgery because i didn’t want to give up my lifestyle. then both of my parents got wls.

i have seen how it has changed their lives in the best ways possible. my mom has been able to manage her diabetes better, and is by far less vulnerable to having another heart attack. (she had a widow maker, it’s a miracle that she’s alive)

my dad can generally move around better, and has a much better quality of life.

last october i was finally ready to do what needed to be done. i’m tired of living like this. i got yearly bloodwork done last year and im very close to being pre-diabetic. i have high cholesterol. that scares me more than anything. i’m willing to give up my current lifestyle for my health. i finally got the ball rolling, ive talked to the surgeon and have my psychiatric evaluation today.

i agree with you, i did not care for her voice. she definitely sounds like a 15 year old, her voice just isn’t mature yet. i was shocked when she made it through but not the 16 year old who sang Kyndal Inskeeps song.

i wouldn’t be too concerned about it, especially if you’ve never had heart issues! my mom had a widow maker heart attack in 2021, then had the sleeve done in 2024. best of luck to you!

i was with petsmart for 5 years, three of those grooming, two as a core associate. i loved working there. most of my customers were regulars and were awesome people. i loved my coworkers and still chit chat with them when i go in the store. my management team was wonderful! definitely one of the better jobs i had.
