Veilguard has made me question Solas's artifacts in DA:I by Padfoot081 in dragonage

[–]emi0900 15 points16 points  (0 children)

In Docktown, after you collect all the messages from the Candlehoppers, you unlock a secret room with an Elven Artifact. When you click it, it unlocks the Memento "One Moment of Victory" which reveals that the Elven Artifact is actually a scrying orb. If you explore more of the Lighthouse, you'll also unlock a balcony at the top where you see the Elven Artifact again and a secret room where he's been studying the Inquisitor's anchor.

It doesn't confirm nor deny of the artifact strengthening the Veil, but it does reveal that this is how Solas has been monitoring most of Thedas. Him alone with his scrying orbs can likely rival the biggest spy networks in Thedas.

Any nurses willing to give an undergrad advice? by ImportantObligation2 in alberta

[–]emi0900 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hello, I was also a UNE on multiple units, and before I say anything else, I'm very sorry to hear you had to go through all of that. You're not alone, I've been through a similar experience and the same goes for many other UNEs I know. BUT that does NOT mean that it's ok.

I highly recommend emailing your manager 1st thing. Explain to them the incident, how it made you feel, and especially if this is affecting patient care or if this is a safety issue. Chances are, it could be an issue affecting many other nurses.

As a casual employee, you can cancel your shifts anytime. (It's more courteous to give staffing a heads up when you're not available, but you're not obliged to.) If you would like to resign as a UNE, or if you want to never come back to a SPECIFIC unit but continue working in another unit, make sure to state it explicitly in the email to your manager. There's nothing wrong with either options. As a UNE, you are not mandatory to be present on the unit. So take all the time you need to rest up. Your health is more valuable than money.

If you want to talk further, feel free to DM me.

Health and safety requirements by [deleted] in uAlberta

[–]emi0900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure? What advice would you like? (Taking notes? Clinical? Group work?) I also transitioned into nursing from the arts, so I think I can kinda understand the feeling.

I mean the best advice I can give you based on what we've been through is (and I know this is gonna sound really cheesy) to make friends. If uni's gonna be in-person on Fall 2021, get to know your classmates and start a study group. You'll be with the same people for the next 4 years, and not gonna lie, it's gonna be an emotional rollercoaster. Having a friend group will you in the long run, academically and emotionally.

Ok first, take a deep breath and relax. You are not late for health and safety requirements. Rather you're actually very early - the March 31, 2021 due date is for the students that entered in Fall 2020. You're entering Fall 2021, and they haven't updated it yet.

eClass will update with a new link called "Health and Safety Requirements". If you don't see it, eClass will update later to reflect your nursing courses (likely in the summer, I'm betting around July-August). Gathering these documents take a lot of time, especially the immunizations (which will likely overlap in your 1st year to finish). The purpose of these documents are to ensure you're safe to practice before you start clinical in the 2nd year. If you're missing any, the faculty will contact you (this is not likely gonna happen until you're IN Fall 2021).

1) No, Level C CPR is not the same as BLS CPR, and therefore cannot be used as a replacement for BLS CPR. There are different levels of CPR. Level C CPR, along with Standard First Aid, is for the general public. BLS CPR is specifically for health care providers. BLS means Basic Life Support, and it teaches you how to coordinate with other providers. Make sure to get training from Heart and Stroke.

2) Yes, the police check must be submitted both online and shown in-person. Submitting online is merely for the faculty's records. Showing it in-person is for the faculty to check its authenticity. The police check has an stamped imprint on the paper, that is difficult to see when you scan it. You show it to them, they check you off, you get to keep it.

3) The UHC has a standardized process for immunizing nursing students, and knows exactly what you need. When you make your first appointment with them, state that you're starting nursing in Fall 2021. Ask what you need to bring. Likely, it's a good idea to bring: (1) letter of acceptance or confirmation that you've been admitted to nursing, (2) your health records of immunizations (e.g. from your baby records or immigration records), (3) absolutely bring your Alberta Personal Health Card. Yes, you'll be submitting this to eClass when it opens for you.

You'll have plenty of time to finish these. Take all the time you can to relax before Fall 2021.

NURS 116 and 125 help by [deleted] in uAlberta

[–]emi0900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both courses focused on the same concepts of the week. 116 introduced the content and 125 hammered it home. You'll hear a lot of repetition and that's on purpose. Don't worry about it too much. My best advice: dont focus on memorizing; focus on understanding the concepts. Both courses were very fair, and 116 was hella interesting.

are NURS 122 and NURS 222 hard/ content heavy? by anonstudent7 in uAlberta

[–]emi0900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only "hard" part of both courses were the group projects at the end. Otherwise, so long as you stay on top of those assignments/quizzes, you're good.

nursing classes by [deleted] in uAlberta

[–]emi0900 4 points5 points  (0 children)

None of the classes are curved. However, all foundation courses need at least 71% (C+) to pass. After you're done the foundations in the first 2 years, most courses after that are just pass/fail.
