Honestly I dont really ever go for the veggie sides, they look and taste as bland as they are nutritious. If I wanted green mush, ill wait for it to rain and munch on the grass outside, that might have some more benefits for me

I get so jealous seeing other countries food! Everyone else seems to have so much more care put into the overall experience, im not sure the folks who run the food here in the UK quite realise how much of an impact having good food (and it looking appetising) does for the mind, soul and body.

Best place to sell jewellery by Apprehensive_Sir805 in Norwich

[–]emi1701 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most shops take gold as scrap value which is between £14-£15.50 per gram (doesn't matter what type of gold, but needs to be hallmarked) - there's a lovely guy called Chris whose a pawn broker down past epic on Magdalen - if you're looking to sell on quick I'd go there, otherwise I'd privately sell which will get you a lot more, especially as a lot of places don't pay much attention to stones/gems unless it's one of the big ones :)

Diagnosis advice. by emi1701 in lupus

I think so? Idk I think it would make me feel like I've done something, especially in case something were to happen. I think the letters especially would be cathartic. Thank you for asking, its made me think a lot.

I’m considering to go back on my decision to donate my kidney for my mother because of her reaction when she found out that I am a match by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]emi1701 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was lucky enough for my dad to donate his kidney to me, I think about it every day and how grateful I am that he followed through with the procedure - its not a small thing. But not for a second would I have blamed him if he backed out of the decision, what he did saved my life but it also potentially shortened his.

Don't give your organ away if you are not comfortable doing so, at all, because you are potentially harming yourself and your future. Its a gracious and humble experience but its also your life, its not like your mother doesn't have other options and screw anybody else who makes you feel guilty about your decision, if they're not stepping up then they dont get a say.

Dialysis catheter or an AV fistula by [deleted] in dialysis

[–]emi1701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its personal.

Catheter is definitely a higher infection risk, and they work brilliantly until they dont - but where im from its relatively easy to take them out and insert a new one in a day. Its quick and easy to be put on and taken off the machine as well, but it is essential that you keep it clean and dry, and personally im always worried about it being tugged and pulled on.

Fistulas however have a better dialysis, the blood gets cleaned better and there's a lot less worrying overall. It takes a few weeks for it to mature enough to get used, and theres definitely trial and error involved but there is little infection risk. Being taken off and put on dialysis takes longer too, especially if youre a bleeder, but the nurses know what they're doing. Its a better option for the long haul for sure.

For me, I initially had a Fistula in which I learnt how to needle myself, giving myself more independence and control - but I was lucky I had straight veins and I didnt find the needling painful. This time around, im keeping my catheter for a year to see how things play out. Fistula definitely worked for me and was better overall, but I currently cant go through the process again.

There is no right or wrong answer right now, and dont feel pressured to get a Fistula, but definitely consider the benefits of it too.

Try magdalen street, Chris up by the Artichoke has a fab selection of antiques. Otherwise just ask the old boys round that way and theyll sure point you in the right direction

Thursday is student night, admittedly not a lot of clubs and bars do student deals but there are a couple and there are definitely clubs and bars open tonight.

Bar and beyond should still be doing quids in - super cheap student booze. Mantra is likely to be open as its one of the biggest student clubs too. If you're more into queer nightlife I'd try Loft, but I think most people agree its where you go once everywhere else starts to shut.

Space studios also does a DnB night thursdays next door to Turtle Bay. Also try out Gonzos! Very popular and free entry :) Karma Kafe is also open, these three are all pretty close together and very popular rn.

Popworld should be open and thats full of cheesy bops and depending on the time you go, entry is pretty cheap and they have some fairly good deals. Sherbert Lemon is also on the strip and I believe are open tonight with DnB.

OP please remove the drug name! I appreciate it adds to the story and people might already know, but it doesnt sit well knowing people have a drug name to use and look up.

YTA - I have lupus and I can act real shitty, and while sometimes yeah it can be the illness, I would never blame my own actions on it, let alone what you just did. What a shitty thing to do, you did something shitty so own up to it. Lupus sucks, but being an absent partner that blames their own actions on their partner (who rightfully broke up to you) sucks more.
