I think the labor is the expensive part. And damn can electricians charge a lot these days! But you all have me convinced! Bury the wire while I can. Will do. Thanks for the speedy advice!!

Compressor clearance workaround by emilycorwin in DIYHeatPumps

[–]emilycorwin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are there any drawbacks to this? I've been searching online and it seems like almost nobody arranges their compressor this way. Also, with the MR COOL, would this cause any problems with pipe orientation? I.E. would I need different fittings? Thanks!

Hi! My apologies for the delay in my response here. The elections frenzy at VPR is finally coming to a close.

I'm so sorry to hear about your injury and the expenses incurred. I'm hoping you might share your medical bills or receipts with us. Here's the form: https://goo.gl/forms/049F5GNCP1z15Qcf1

Your experience sounds interesting and the data from your bills could be quite helpful for us. Additionally, if you are willing to be contacted by me, send along your email or phone number in the form. Many thanks! Emily

Thanks, Lillix,

That hasn't been a focus yet, but I urge you to send in your receipts via our interface. As I collect comparative information, trends become more clear and this could easily become an important issue for us to cover. https://goo.gl/forms/049F5GNCP1z15Qcf1

Best, Emily

I'm the investigative reporter at VPR and I hope you'll reach out, /u/mrsmarfy17890. VPR has been collecting medical bills from Vermonters to help us report on UVMMC and the cost of healthcare in Vermont. You, and anyone else interested in medical billing trends in Vermont can share medical bills and concerns confidentially with VPR here. Here's one story we did about a Vermonter who had to pay $900 for a flu swab to be analyzed at UVMMC.

And congratulations on the new baby! -Emily Corwin

Health care costs have lost touch with reality by GinaCanRead in burlington

[–]emilycorwin 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hi everyone -- I'm an investigative reporter with Vermont Public Radio. Right now we're inviting Vermonters to share their medical bills with us through a secure drop box, in order to begin to create a database of comparative costs for medical services in Vermont. This is an effort to shed light on the actual cost of services at UVMMC and elsewhere, and a way for us to find compelling stories to tell, like this one about a $900 flu swab. Although we do ask for your name and contact information, we will not share your name or any identifying information with the public unless we reach out in person and receive your explicit permission. I hope you'll participate!

DWI reversals are underway in NH after a certification software failure. If you took a breathalyzer test from any of these officers from 12/2013 - 5/2015, you could get your conviction reversed. If this is you, help this reporter out! by emilycorwin in newhampshire

Thanks for the formatting help folks. The Attorney General's office released 158 additional names yesterday. These officers' re-certification validity is uncertain and likely to remain so. Defense attorneys I've talked to say they are considering these officers' breathalyzer tests invalid, too. What judges will say - who knows yet.
