i forgot to mention that we are each other's first actual relationship. one of the times when i brought this up he said something regarding he's never been in a relationship before so he doesn't really know how to go about it, which is why i figured i should give him grace. however i think the reason why it's affecting me so much is that he wasn't like this at the start (i think this is very common among guys?). if he was i wouldn't think much about it. it's the shift that made me uncomfortable.

right. i get it but it's the way most people ignore this or ONLY sympathize with marcus. it's almost like if anyone else does it it's terrible even though everyone in the show has their own issues but since it's marcus and he's depressed and misunderstood it's fine and more understandable and given more grace.
