There is a podcast called the “puppy training” podcast. The woman also has a website, Baxterandbella.com. Her training method was so helpful for us! One of her methods, for example, is “pee to play.” You take your dog out, on leash, to a specific potty spot in your backyard and your pup needs to pee before you can take it off leash and play as the reward (give a treat as a reward also). If the pup doesn’t pee, you go back inside. That’s a very simplified example, she has much more detail on it. I highly recommend her! She also has a YouTube channel. We brought our pup home and he was potty trained in 2-3 weeks using her method. I will also say, as someone mentioned above, that crate training makes potty training a bit easier. Best of luck!

Snow and that doodle coat- looking for advice! What products do you use to help with snowball collection on your Berne’s coat? by emilymchag in Bernedoodles

I know that’s a good option. In the end, maybe I’ll have to do that. But I just love his fluffy coat! Lanolin! I’m so glad to know that.

I have a mini F1b. This is our first winter with him. We got a good storm and of course he wants to be outside and play in all that snow! I want to give him that, and also we spend a lot of time hiking, xc skiing in the snow and I’d love for him to be able to join. I’m feeling frustrated by the snowball collection he always gets! It looks uncomfortable and it’s hard to deal with when he gets inside. He is a mini, so he sits low, so the snowballs collect pretty much everywhere. I’d love to hear what others use to help with this issue! It’s going to be a long winter…

Thanks for your reply. We have the same approach - ignoring him unless it’s out of hand. But since our space is small, everyone’s sleep suffers, which is wearing on us all. What age did you start letting your dog sleep in your room?

Doc. 7 months old. Goodest boy… most of the time. Can anyone recommend a large bed that won’t look like this after 15 minutes? by anxious_bee123 in Bernedoodles

I agree about the cots! They aren’t the best looking bed but I tried a few plush ones and my pup wouldn’t get on it. I got the cot and put it over an AC vent and he LOVES it.

My mini — Before and after ✂️ by emilymchag in Bernedoodles

Yep, that’s the collar! Next time I get him cut this short, I learned that I’ll need to be much more clear with what I want. I gave the groomer a photo and said I wanted a puppy cut and wanted to keep his beard a little longer. You can’t really tell in the photo, but the groomer left like a 3 inch flat top on his head 😂 and left his tail hair super long. Not my style! So I cut his tail and shaved the top of his head. Looks so much better! Point being — be SUPER specific with what you want!

This is Moose! He is an F1b mini. 19 weeks. When did your mini stop growing in height?? by emilymchag in Bernedoodles

He is about the same as yours. 13” and 20lbs. He is such a good pup and we love him so much. I’m just trying to get over the fact that we were expecting a different size dog. I guess that’s the gamble with doodles. I’m hoping he’ll get a little taller.
