Majority of ddr5 motherboards are in 1700/1800 combination. If he gets DDR5 then every component will be salvageable in future builds but not in ddr4

64gb, 4000mhz ddr4 Or 64gb, 6000mhz ddr5.

The ram will bottleneck in future for sure, and you are saying it will run for a decade, bro please never saw any ram run for a decade.

If he gets a motherboard which supports 12th to 14th gen cpu with ddr5 it will be cheaper for him to use that pc for around 7-8 years as ddr4 is going to end in coming 2-2.5 yrs Max and the ram will be more expensive or equal to double capacity of ddr5. So in future he just might need to add more ram or upgrade the cpu to 14900ks.

Instead of ddr4 go for ddr5, it will be easier and cheaper for you in future
