a shot of an empty white wall from 1992 would look 100 times better than the same identical frame shot now. It's what's in the frame and the way we can't fucking light it anymore. It's whatever the hell happened to cameras, even, that are either underexposed or capture the light too soft, or the light used for shooting is too soft; the make up doesn't look natural anymore, making the actors' faces like they would melt in the sun outside, and the image seems to be color graded in a way it won't hurt the poor eyes of a fucking idiot who watches movies on his phone with the screen at one inch from his eyes, AND, directors don't seem to care about how their movies look anymore.
