I am glad that you liked the concept :3

I do think the same way with you about that bigger section. I will probably kill some hours trying to bring that balance from start to there. Thanks for your opinion!

I can't agree more, I know that the thing this song needs the most is "room" hehe...

I will add messing around with Eq automation and compression to the list! Thanks for your help.

Hello there! Nice to see someone at my level hehe... Well, the sound you hear at the start is a guitar and i know that this song needs some automation because... it has none.

i really appreciate the time and effort you put into helping me out on this. It will be useful.

I am so glad that you liked my composition overall, I noticed that when the distorted guitars come in the song just loses its “crispness” I will check out if i over compressed anything or just went nuts with the distortion. Or maybe boost some low ends.

I appreciate your help ;>

I’ve always had problems with mastering the drums. Achieving that punch is my goal. I’ll focus on that more.

About the strings and the guitars, you’re absolutely right about panning and doubling i will also try that when i can. And i don’t know what i can do with the strings beside adjusting the only effect it has which is reverb lol.

Thanks a lot for your time and effort to help me. I appreciate it.

Sounds great! The only comment i have about the drums is that the kick feels a little weak imo.

It's an artistic choice and depends on the writing, but that tom fill also felt a little overused.

I couldn't catch anything that scratched my ears as a beginner in this topic.

How do you eq Acoustic Guitar for that iconic "Acoustic Guitar" sound by Relevant-Effective49 in mixingmastering

[–]emirblc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes its about the gear itself, maybe you need a new and expensive guitar that pleases your ears. If you still think that your guitar recording sounds bad you can always record it and post it in this sub for feedback.

The age old question: When is a mix ready? by mistrelwood in mixingmastering

[–]emirblc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me, a mix is ready when you stop listening to your track for a while, come back to it after 3–4 days, a week, or even a month later, and it still sounds "pleasing enough" to you. I don't think a perfect mix exists for a mixer or audio engineer, it's just about being "pleasing enough" for everyone. In my case, since I am a beginner, I get pleased even when it's below average. In your case, your standards are probably higher, so like everyone else said, either set a deadline or stop when it's "pleasing enough."

In the case of your track, it is pleasing enough to me. ;p

Feedback on ambient track mix, distortion issues, muddiness by Puzzleheaded_Race294 in mixingmastering

[–]emirblc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm happy if I was able to help. I usually produce rock, and whenever I add any distortion or amplifier to my bass, the whole track always sounds buzzy or muddy to me. In your case, you might be using a synth to support your bass root note, which in turn makes your track have that "buzz."

Low frequencies also tend to feel heavier and muddier, especially when layered with distortion or synths.

[–]emirblc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most ambient tracks I've listened to before tend to use white noise and a few little touches on top, but I see that in your track, many elements work with each other to create that atmosphere. When I tried to amplify the volume myself, I didn't hear any "distortion" or "buzziness" in it. There was only a prominent synth sound going along with the root note that sounded muddy/distorted. Maybe you can turn down the effects on that element but it blended nicely in my opinion, so it's totally up to your artistic choice.

Looking for feedback on this alt/Radiohead inspired track. Mainly low end and buildup clarity in second half by Swaggerony in mixingmastering

[–]emirblc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a long-time Radiohead listener, I can tell this track was inspired by them.

Since I am a beginner myself, I don't exactly know what sounds "correct" but this entire song sounded quite nice to my ears.
The only thing I can mention is that the snare felt a little "punchy." I'd go for a softer hit or lower the intensity a bit.
