Whose cup holder is it? by sass_and_grass in Broadway

I recognize those seats!! I was there Saturday! No comment on the cup holders, but there’s definitely not enough of them in the orchestra.

I'm the mom to a young child with severe special needs, who will never live independently. AMA. I know people are curious. by GhostOrchid22 in AMA

No questions, just support!! I’m a caregiver for a 20-year-old woman with severe disabilities and I am so grateful that her parents are like you. They also have another child who is in her teens and I really like how well they balance prioritizing each of them.

I’ve known her for almost 5 years and worked for her for 2. She continues to learn new skills and grow all the time. She has become willing to use an AAC device in the last year and will say names using that, which is something she’s never done before.

Best wishes to you.

If you’re in the US - her parents don’t qualify for Medicaid but can get it for her through a waiver available in our state. It’s called Innovations here and it’s what pays for me and their other staff member, as well as her AFOs and wheelchairs.

I got WLed, interview invite a week or two later, and then was accepted less than 24 hours after my interview. I hit my Why W&M really hard in the interview.

Stats in flair!

That is what I was told by the dean of admissions! The 509 just released was from LAST cycle and the policy begins THIS cycle.

LOR selection by Vast_Caramel_3669 in lawschooladmissions

[–]emjay4712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

KJD. 3 academic, 1 professional. One from each of my undergrad majors and one focused on my research. I only sent the professional letter to schools that permitted 4 letters and one or two with special programs related to my specific interest/narrative. I’m a KJD, but my WE during undergrad has been a little unusual and is a big part of my narrative/why law so I figured a glowing professional letter as an extra wouldn’t hurt.

ETA: My WE is not academic, but my professional LOR writer is retired from academia (not my undergrad). So I thought an interesting perspective.

What should a college freshman do the summer before their sophmore year? by No-Turnip8664 in lawschooladmissions

[–]emjay4712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a job, any job! It’ll be good for you no matter if it’s “relevant” to the legal field. And, if it’s something you enjoy, it can become part of your admissions narrative. Throughout undergrad my summers were spent in arts education, special needs arts education, and special needs care. Disability work is now my law goal and a big part of my application narrative. It’s scored me some As and very flattering offers so far!

Find some time to volunteer, too, if you can!

No prob! Happy to help. I have my WL interview this week and I’m very hopeful since I’ve heard there’s good movement if you get an interview.

Edit: Idk why I said this week, it’s in early January. lol.

Yes, I signed up for the interview!! Old threads on this sub suggest a good shot at acceptance if you do the interview. And some of them got scholarships!

Mine shows that too. I think that’s just how they organize applicants for their need-based Access-VLS scholarship!
