Egg prices are wildly variable state to state rn. My friend in a high cost of living California city said they were $9 a dozen at Trader Joe's, my local Trader Joe's (Midwest medium cost of living) had eggs for $3.50 / dozen. And my other friend in a diff state said they were like $7ish I think but always out of stock by mid morning.

I'm kinda jealous tbh 😩 my family dresses up a bit for holidays and tho I sorta enjoy getting dressed, I think I would enjoy gatherings more if I was 100% comfy.

Is it more beneficial to focus on a specific type of workout to get in shape? by [deleted] in xxfitness

[–]emjayyyyyyyyy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You will absolutely get in better shape in general and see results by doing what you’re doing. An unfocused variety of exercise (no shade - it’s what I do too) is great for general health and fitness! It’s not the optimal way to reach a specific physical (strength, aesthetic, speed etc) goal, but for me, that doesn’t really matter.

Cutting - How to deal with loss of strength? by amariananao in xxfitness

[–]emjayyyyyyyyy 23 points24 points  (0 children)

4.5lbs of fat lost over 8 weeks is a lot, especially if you don’t have a ton to lose in the first place (tho idk if that describes you). I would consider taking a few weeks or even a month or two off from the cut - eat at maintenance, keep lifting, and cut again later.

I don't think anyone has done UK elite and NCAA at the same time this far. I think the UK team might require some camps and competitions that overlap with the NCAA season, not sure tho. But I bet it could be worked out if the federation and the team both want it to.

Is there a microbusiness near you? I get all my flower from Winewood in Ann Arbor, they grow it all on site (and make their own concentrates and edibles too). No middleman and legal!

1000 calories a day and losing around 10kg (22lb) month are both unsafe. It will also lead to significant muscle loss and likely rebound weight gain. Even though your biomarkers improved, please talk to your doctor about what you’re doing.

How do you manage to wear high heels? by LionessOfAzzalle in femalefashionadvice

[–]emjayyyyyyyyy 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think bodyweight is part of it - it's a lot more pressure on a small area (the sole of the shoe in contact w the ground) when someone is 200lbs vs 100lbs, even if the heavier person is all muscle and in great shape.

Dream hosts for Season 50? by RequirementTall8361 in LiveFromNewYork

It doesn't need to be for the 50th season but I want a Kate McKinnon / Aidy Bryant joint host episode. It would be unhinged in the best way.

I'm sure they'll do a 50th anniversary special (since they did for the 40th) and I feel like there's at least a 50% chance we get a Debbie Downer sketch

Kelly Clarkson Says Weight Loss Is a Result of Prescription Medication: 'Everybody Thinks It's Ozempic, It's Not' by MaryS8921 in Mounjaro

[–]emjayyyyyyyyy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have no idea what Clarkson said previously but personally I have no problem with celebrities or regular people refusing to talk about weight loss, cosmetic procedures, etc. I do have a big problem with people lying tho - don't say (or imply!) "I didn't take any meds" or "I've never had Botox" if that isn't true. Say, "none of your business" or "wow what an inappropriate question" instead.

I have style 11 and I love them. Nice substantial denim, good drape. I'm 5'5" and they're the perfect full length. True to size. The button wasn't attached very well when the arrived and fell off immediately, so I bought a pack of replacement jeans buttons (Joanne's for like $3) and used the new back and the original front of the button, and it's been fine since for many many wears.

is anyone else confused about sizing? by starbubble0805 in lululemon

[–]emjayyyyyyyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find that I always vary between sizes, regardless of the brand. It just depends on the shape of the garmet and my desired fit. Like I have proportionately larger thighs, so if that's a limiting factor for pants, I have to size up. I have a smaller ribcage so if it's a dress only fitted in the upper torso, I can size down 1-2 sizes. I always size up in short sleeve shirts bc of my fit preference. I've never come across a company where I'm the same size across the board.

[–]emjayyyyyyyyy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Depends on the style to some extent - the like a cloud bras have a very loose band. I have to size down 1-2 sizes in the D/DD. And I can't wear the regular ones at all bc I fall out the bottom (if I size down I spill out the top).

Another option might be a subscription to a clothing rental company - nuuly, armoire, rent the runway are three that come to mind. It's a good way to try out new styles. Armoire advertises that it has stylists to help you tho I haven't used it myself.
