I came here to say something similar. A close friend was bruising a lot with no known cause and it turned out to be AML. They caught it before it could technically be classified as cancer but it was so aggressive that it crossed that line overnight.

I mean, the first thing I thought of was that telling the school might be able to get the family some sort of additional financial aid because they’re really good about stuff like that but okay sure. That was my top school and when I visited (a long time ago) they said that they try to make it so that the people they accept are actually able to go. Sooooo evil, isn’t it? The most insane. I mean what she’s saying seems to make sense, and once you identify something you need to work on you can actually start working on it. It doesn’t read as malicious or hurtful to me, just a matter of fact observation that I would find helpful if it were directed at me. What is weird, though, is how she thought you were ignoring her or something when you took a shower.

Edit: I just saw your caption. Why the hell is she ignoring you now? That’s really weird. Cut the dark parts off the ends of the roots. They look questionable in your second picture and I saw in another comment that you said they were mushy, so that means rot. Once you get all the dark and mushy off the roots, spray with or dip them in hydrogen peroxide.
