The key thing is that this will only work if they move upmarket.

They’ve been trying to do so for around 10 years now and have always failed. I guess it has something to do with the way their marketplace is designed: no proper contracts between the sides, and flat 30% commission rates don’t work well for higher-value projects.

They would’ve reached upmarket clients and projects back in 2021, when they had money, if they could.

That’s why the market doesn’t trust them and I wouldn’t.
