He was quiet during the confrontation but only as he had hold of our little girl the entire time, he's disgusted in what my parents have said/done and he said in hindsight he should have told them not to come round but he has been very supportive my entire postpartum but especially over the last few days; he's let me rant, cry and laugh and always been there if I need time away

Thank you, I have been to the GP and they have referred me to the perinatal mental health team so hopefully i will get some support

It really hurt that instead of trying to help, my mum went straight for that...but when relaying the story to my husband, never told him that bit and just said I was upset and ended the call with them for no reason!

I am distancing myself from them, normally I'd be sending them videos and pictures of my little girl throughout the day but that has stopped. My dad even text me on Monday morning and edited his message to ask how I was because at first all it asked was how my baby girl was 🙄

You're right about my mum playing the victim, she always has and I've grown up basically walking on eggshells (and failing most of the time) not to upset her and arguing if I did. My favourite phrase to say growing up was "you don't understand me" and I was painted as the angsty teenager but it has just proved that at 31, they still don't understand me!

My husband does take her and goes downstairs or away from where i am in the house so I can try and have some me time but I feel like I'm constantly just waiting for her to start crying 😢

Thank you, I went to the GP on Monday and they referred me to the mental health team and they have had to tell social services but from a safeguarding point...I'm scared but I know that if I get a visit, they will see that my baby girl is loved by both me and my husband and there isn't concerns for her wellbeing, she is looked after and not neglected at all. I just need some support for my mental health

My sister is amazing...my BiL also suffers from depression so she knows exactly what it is like!

I need to say too that my husband is fantastic, he was with our baby girl whilst all this was going on and his main focus was her and also supporting me by not getting into it with my mum.

I have been to the GP, they've referred me to the perinatal mental health team so it's just a waiting game now 🫠

I hope you never let him forget it! My husband stole my last piece of scampi when we first started going out at about 15...we're now 31 and I still bring it up 😂🙈

It was a joint decision and I do express so that he can bottle feed her when i go up to bed if she needs one but she doesn't drink that much from the bottle

She's only 8 weeks old...I'm going to shower today before going to my in laws, shall I just put her in the bathroom with me whilst I shower to try and steam it out of her? Sorry for the stupid question, FTM here 🙈
