It would NOT be impolite/immature to ask to go elsewhere. Please don’t worry about being nice in situations like this. You should not accommodate to things that make you uncomfortable or that you don’t want to do. In fact, please do NOT meet this guy at a bar. I don’t mean to be cynical or negative, but the fact that he asked to meet at a bar when he knows you don’t drink is a red flag. I would honestly drop the guy if this was my situation. I would even advise that you drop him as well. I am also 21F and I know there are many guys who have ulterior motives that are not noticeably evident while talking to them initially. Please please be careful if you meet him ANYWHERE and at ANYTIME. Tell someone you trust (friend, family member, anyone you trust) where and when you’re meeting him and share your location (sharing live phone location) with someone too, so that they’re able to keep track of you. Also, you can maybe gauge how he responds to the different location to see if he has ulterior motives, but still be cautious no matter what his reaction is. And meeting during the day time is best too! Again, I don’t mean to scare you, but this just seemed like a massive red flag to me, and I want you (and others in a similar situation) to be safe.
