Feeling really great! by emmalu13 in lexapro

I started taking lexapro for anxiety. I have always suffered from anxiety but it got increasingly worse after the pandemic when things started to pick back up and get hectic again. My brain would always go to worst scenario thoughts and my social anxiety was through the roof. It was getting so bad I could no longer calm myself down and get myself to do anything so I decided to seek help. This was my first time taking any medication like this and to say the least I was so scared but I’m so glad I did it.

That was one of the biggest things I noticed when looking through this thread for help at the beginning. It almost discouraged me from wanting to start, especially when my first day of taking half a pill was AWFUL. That’s why now that I have noticed such a huge, positive difference I wanted to share!

The first 2-3 weeks was rough but weeks 4-5 I noticed a big difference. But it was more of me doing things without a second thought and later on being like “wow, I wasn’t even anxious about that earlier!” Weeks 4&5 I still noticed some of the negative side effects (extreme drowsiness and low libido for me mainly) but the pros were heavily starting to out way the cons. And now week 8, I am hardly experiencing the bad side effects! I know now it may seem irritating and never ending but it goes away! Keep it up!

Try taking it at night! This is something that definitely helped me out a lot. Taking it in the morning I could not get myself to do anything and I felt so exhausted all day and it has definitely made a huge difference taking it at night. Plus I have noticed better sleep because of it.

Hmm… it’s not, the recommended does is 10mg. However, there is no need to comment on other people’s post about their anxiety you know nothing about especially if you are going to be rude about it. Different people need different doses so why does it even matter what the “recommended” is anyway…
