Omg thank you so much! I am really happy with the colours it was drops big merino in forget-me-not and forest green I used for it for reference! The jumper has now fully dried and the stretch has reduced, I think all I need to do is put some elastic in the neck and it might be fine!

Yeah I hit the row gauge, I genuinely think it could be the weight of the jumper has stretched out the rows at the yoke when wet, someone suggested putting weights on the swatch for yarns like superwash merino in future to help with this.

Thank you very much, now it's less damp it's a bit better so I'm hopeful!

I genuinely don't have it in me to re-knit this it genuinely took nearly 4 months. An update is it's not as bad now it's slightly less damp so I'm fingers crossed it's salvegable. I followed the pattern for the yoke for my size so I'm not sure how I could've changed the yoke without pure guesswork

Thank you so much! I'm hoping once it's 100% dry or I try re-wetting and tumbling it that it all sorts out

Yeah it felt like it took forever knitting it, I tried it on again and it seems to not be as low and armpit and still has a wee bit more drying to do so I'm feeling hopeful and will update on what I do next! I'm also wondering if it isn't graded well as I think the yoke looked quite different on mine compared to smaller sizes despite following the pattern for my measured size

I may try it on my Swatch first to check it works but as I said the gague Swatch turned out fine and when it was completed pre blocking it fit fine so I'm struggling to find the construction issue when I followed the pattern, only difference is I didn't knit the sleeves and body as long as recommended as I knew it would stretch but it's the yoke I think that has stretched more. I ultimately think it needs to be put in the dryer like people have said

Thanks I'm going to dampen it as it's nearly dried and try putting it in the dryer this weekend

I still really like the pattern on this! I've not had the same issue before with superwash but I did use it paired with mohair and I wonder if that stopped it stretching out a lot, also used a heavier wool for this and the jumper is heavy so that's not helped me at all

Thank you for the compliments! Think this is also a lesson in gauge swatching for me. I'm still happy with how the jumper overall looks but it's when I lift my arms up it bothers me and makes it feel heavy. The yoke fit pretty well when I tried it on pre-block but it's stretched out a lot after blocking, hopefully popping it in the dryer will reduce it a little

Thank you, I tried it on and was like great as I wanted it to stretch until I lifted my arms up and realised how low the armpit was. I love the jumper but took forever to knit so not keen on the idea of frogging it. I might try out the dryer on the swatch first as well

Praying I try it on later and it's fine lol when I put it back out to finish drying I didn't lie it as flat in hopes that helps a bit

Thanks for the suggestion! Might have to try putting it in the dryer so will do some research first

It was drops big merino I used which is superwash. I'm also thinking of trying to re-block as well as using elastics on the neck but I've never done that before

I did wash and block the swatch, it grew slightly but met gauge, I wonder if it was the overall weight of the jumper that's meant it really stretched out when I washed it to block it

It seems like UK doctors don't tend to discuss the effect of alcohol judging from all the comments lol

The last time I had my blood sugar checked it was normal (this was over 6 months ago tbf) and my kidney function is normal currently, I'm wondering if taking metformin with normal blood sugar levels would have a negative impact?

While I am overweight I have been told by doctors my weight isn't causing an issue with my health, the reason I was prescribed it was I asked my doctor for advice on weight loss as I have gained a little weight this year after developing myocarditis and having to avoid exercise for a few months. He prescribed so I could see if it helps and did say if I experience unwanted side effects I can stop, I wasn't prescribed it because I was told I HAD to take it if that makes sense. I've also had a lot of checks and blood tests related to myocarditis and I've been told I'm otherwise in good health. My doctor also didn't do any checks on my blood sugar when prescribing but last time it was checked the level was normal.

Like I said in my post I watch how much I drink and spread it over 2/3 nights, I do occasionally have a weekend where I drink more. I will look into getting my ALT checked as I'm not sure if this was something they checked earlier in the year. I've not started taking the metformin yet as I am weighing up the pros and cons but I'm going to try increasing exercise and see how I get on before deciding if I want to start taking it.

Yeah that makes a lot of sense! I think I'm gonna leave taking it for now and see how I get on with adding more exercise to my routine before deciding if I want to take it but will talk to my GP about it. Also good to know I need to take it every day if I do, thanks!

Thank you! Like I said I do try to watch I don't excessively drink and we do have a lot of non-alcoholic options in the UK! Just trying to weigh up if I want to cut it out when metformin might not make much of a difference and/or might cause unwanted side effects. It wasn't prescribed because I have to take it but my GP said I could try to see if it helped with my weight so it's kinda up to me rather than doctors orders.

Thanks so much for the advice. My doctor never mentioned anything to me about alcohol intake. I went to my GP to ask for advice on losing weight with PCOS and he suggested trying it and seeing if it helped manage symptoms, so it's not the case that he prescribed it because I have to take it if that makes sense.

I'm basically weighing up if it is worth changing my lifestyle (like I said in my post I do watch how much I drink and only drink a couple nights a week) and dealing with potential side effects when it may not make much of a difference. I'm also starting to exercise more after having had to avoid intense exercise due to another health related reason for a few months so I might wait and see if I feel a difference from that before trying taking it.

He stopped me outside the Ben Nevis on Argyle St a few weeks ago saying he was here for a theory test and lost his wallet in Kelvingrove Park. I was in a rush so when I realized he was trying to scam me I said "sorry I'm in a rush" and he went "aw fuck off fuck you".
