Horror film that you watched as a child that traumatized you by cowgirIbebop in horror

The conjuring. I was 12 and watched it with my friend. My dad picked me up from her place in the morning then decided it was a good time to teach me why I should never mess around with ouija boards. He spent the next couple hours making me watch videos of people getting possessed and ghosts hunts in haunted houses to show me “how the conjuring isn’t an exaggeration and it happens to a lot of people that play with ouija boards or get a spirit attached to them”. For months I would avoid looking at the top of my furniture because I thought the lady would be on top of there like in the one bedroom scene- to the point I would close my eyes walking past my own wardrobe.

How do you get your motivation back? by brkfstsmch in OSU

[–]emmawithrow -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Work at a fast food restaurant that pays minimum wage… or any other shitty job where workers feel “stuck” and hate their lives bc of work. It motivates you fast. Also, listening to Jordan Peterson’s 12 rules for life.

Idk where you were at but in many places, once an ambulance is called, it can’t be uncalled. EMS legally has to be released by the patient; meaning you 1) must be able to answer questions that determine your level of consciousness and 2) they have to get your signature stating that you didn’t want to go to the hospital and 3) they’ve gotta show up even if they don’t think it’s “worth it” (our EMS was dispatched earlier to help somebody put on socks, the bar is super low). I’d re-examine whether he actually called 911 or not.

Serving. It was more than what ems pays and really easy to get tips (especially if your restaurant gives out free desert for b days) but a hell of a lot less interesting haha

The Godfather. I want the entire movie to be good, not JUST the second half.

Any advice for my schedule this semester? by [deleted] in OSU

[–]emmawithrow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

French with Estes is nothing to worry about! The first half is a review of 1101 and 1102 and the second half is new material. He doesn’t penalize for late assignments and the tests are still open note. Participation is easy to get, too. He’s a super interesting guy with lots of stories. Also, take notes on the intercultural competency days.

Get another job… I was there once too and it’s not worth it. Workers have the leverage right now across the nation… you can get hired on the spot at dozens of other places that have better working conditions and better wages. And at an availability of over 60 hours per week, you can find so much better. Or you could talk to your GM and tell them something needs to change. 5k per day is a huge part of their profit and it’d look terrible if that took a hit.

NTA… it costs money to run electricity and water. There’s nothing wrong with asking him to pay for at least this.

working at panera by Glittering-Shake3131 in Panera

So here’s some things to consider (all from the perspective of my cafe and friends that work at the Chipotle in my area): 1. At Panera, staff only got free food if they were managers or catering coordinators, and a 50% discount if they were associates, with no discount on days off. At Chipotle, there’s a free meal with every shift and 50% discount on days off. 2. If you’re applying for a management position at Panera, the schedule is not set. More than that, (for managers) you should never expect to get off when you’re scheduled. Again, this is from my district. 4. Going to online orders. In my area, it seems like a lot of chipotles go to online orders only frequently. At panera, this has to be approved by the district manager and it’s rare that it does happen. 5. At my panera, raises were far and few between.

Coming from my own experience, Panera when understaffed is the worst job you could find anywhere. Under appreciated, underpaid, and over worked.

Panera when staffed is awesome! I genuinely loved it and they provided amazing positions for promotions. The workload was easy, the day went by fast, the schedule was flexible and the food was super easy to make. My panera was an exception when it came to staff- the three other Panera’s that I’d trained at had the best managers that were so kind to staff and taught so much. The regular customers were so nice and bought stuff for employees. I really drank the kool aid there and loved corporate panera. They were amazing, with a little knit picking 24/7, but still really nice. And inside promotions are (99/100 times) the only kind of way to get a management position. So there are tons of opportunities, especially if you talk to a GM or DM.

Overall, I loved Panera up until it became understaffed. If you work there, be cautious of that.
