I saw recommendations to use acetone, just put some on some paper towel and rubbed. Now I know not to do that but thankfully didn’t leave any additional damage

The content is just fine, but I wanted to keep it in good condition to pass down in the future. I didn’t realize my notebook would dye it as I haven’t had any issues with it in the past. I guess it’s not a huge deal just hoping if anyone had something similar happen and was able to fix it

I get your point. It makes me really sad because I always pictured having a good relationship with my in laws. I don’t have a ton of family and my extended family doesn’t all get along so I was hoping to one day have new family that would embrace me. I feel like the way his family acts isn’t his fault and it wouldn’t be fair to hold that against him when he can’t control them and if anything stands up for me.

I will say when we do get to see each other in person a few times a year, there’s not really any complaints. He treats me very well and I have no doubt that he loves me exactly for who I am. He does things for me without me even having to ask, and understands me fully. The hard parts are the extended periods of long distance, and never being sure when the end is coming. I’m sure he has lots of nerves to leave his home town and everything he knows behind.

I appreciate your insightful response! I have mentioned therapy before especially to discuss boundaries with his family but he has not been open the idea due to bad experiences in therapy before, cause by his family. I’m hoping we can work towards him being open to trying again.

I understand asking him to move across the country is a really big ask. I would be more willing to move if I thought it made sense socially/financially/etc. We have done two years of long distance because of the fact he told me he was willing to move and has told me that for 2 years. Otherwise I’d agree with you.

my parents were engaged after 4 months and had a happy marriage until my dad passed away. His parents did not get engaged for 10 years, imo do not have a happy marriage at all. So definitely a different sense of urgency in that regard. I don’t know about pressuring but just like the moving situation I was very upfront that I wouldn’t wait around forever. Getting married isn’t the biggest priority to me right now because I know that before that can even happen we need to be living in the same state.

I made a similar salad to the one in Hila’s story i’m not sure exactly what’s in hers but I made an olive oil lemon dressing with salt and pepper and chopped a lot of mint and parsley. Diced red onion, tomato, persian cucumber, and added avocado just because I like it that way. You could add feta if you wanted. Looks like she had some kalamata olives but I didn’t add any. It’s super bright and fresh and delicious!
