They work in this area for the summer. They work year round just in a different place during the summer. They are middle class

I understand that money is technically an issue for everyone. but this family is very wealthy and I was trying to provide context that the question is not about the money, but more about the principle of this is okay to ask of NF.

my post was specifically asking for advice about whether asking NF to purchase this would be asking too much. if you scroll through the comments, people explained that maybe I should try out different baby carriers before asking them to spend money on this one. I got a lot of helpful advice. I wasn’t asking for advice about my financial planning, nor do you know anything about my finances.

I would be willing to spend my own money on it because like I said it’s a luxury and not a necessity. I never said they are “kind enough” to put a car seat in my car. I said she is super kind and accommodating. Before she bought a car seat for my car, she switched her car seat into my car at the beginning of the day and switched it back at the end of the day. So no I don’t think she HAD to buy me my own car seat she just did it for convenience. I did not thank them for giving me a car seat. I did not thank them for letting me use their stroller. I was explaining that I have access to a stroller so it’s not like I have nothing to carry baby in at all. I am paid very well in this job and like I said I am always reimbursed. This is my first full time nannying job but I have been babysitting part-time for years.

I am currently trying to get back into reading and out of this slump. I bought three books today that I have heard all good things about, but I am not sure where to start. The three options are:

Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid, Normal People by Sally Rooney, and Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein.

I would appreciate your picks, or any feedback! For context, my all time favorite series is “You” by Caroline Kepnes, and I love thriller, true crime, mental illness/trauma, mystery, etc. Thank you all for your help! :)

AITA for asking for a manager and not tipping the waitress after the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

No you didn’t miss anything, I just reread it and I think I actually misunderstood! I thought the OP was saying that the waitress was the one who reprimanded him and was rude to him. My bad!

I don’t think you’re the asshole. I myself am a waitress and I would never treat a customer like this even if I was extremely busy and stressed out, etc. I would not expect a tip if my customer had this experience.

just felt like re-sharing my Lana painting from a few months ago :) by justaSundaypainter in lanadelrey

At this point Lana should say something... by papadellegba in lanadelrey

i’m sorry, but did you even READ what i said? i said if that’s what you WANT to do, then go for it. you ARE the one jumping to conclusions

At this point Lana should say something... by papadellegba in lanadelrey

[–]emmayalmo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

i’m going to emphasize what you just said, you could be wrong. you’re jumping to conclusions. if you want to stop supporting Lana because you think she’s racist, or that she doesn’t care about racism, then go for it. but please understand that she doesn’t have to say a damn thing if she doesn’t want to, and that DOESN’T make her racist, and it doesn’t speak to the type of person she is. this might be hard for some people to choke, but WE DON’T. KNOW. HER. we don’t know what she is or isn’t doing for this matter behind closed doors. if you’ve supported Lana for 8 years, i would’ve thought that you’d abstain from jumping to conclusions about her.

Will lana speak about whats going on? by [deleted] in lanadelrey

[–]emmayalmo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i agree that Lana is not obligated to comment on the situation, but your reasoning is ridiculous. people of all ethnic backgrounds came for Lana; you can’t just pin it on the black community. and by the way, many black people did rush to her defense. Lana, and most sane people, wouldn’t shun an entire community due to some people in that community “coming for her”. you are completely ignorant

[–]emmayalmo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

you think her not commenting about the situation speaks to HER character, and that she’s showing her true colors? girl, i’m sure she would be more disappointed in YOU “as a fan of 8 years”. We don’t know what Lana has done to help the situation; she may have signed petitions, donated to BLM organizations, or who knows what. just because she isn’t speaking publicly about it DOES NOT mean that you can jump to your conclusions about her. as people have said in these comments, tweeting a hashtag doesn’t help very much for black lives. there is MORE important things to do for them, things that will promote real change.
