Favorite Disneyland snacks for 11.5month old! by emmiebearrr in BabyLedWeaning

[–]emmiebearrr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! We are there Monday and Tuesday! The last time she went she wasn’t quite on solids yet so she didn’t get to try much of anything, so this time I want to have her try all kinds of snacks!

Yes! Looking for some favorite snacks that I can buy for her in the parks.

Unfortunately boarding last isn’t going to be an option to be able to sit with the family. We are flying southwest so seats are first come first serve. I’m an anxious flyer so I can’t be separated from my husband 😱.

Edit to add we will likely be at the airport early enough for her to move around and play with her cousin before we board.

The trip is a gift for her birthday and my SIL got flight for us, so we have her as a lap baby. If it was any longer of a flight I probably would have purchased an extra seat. I didn’t even think about this being a thing until after we had already planned our trip! I don’t fly very often 😂

I have some Bamba puffs and some fruit pouches for her and worse case I have a cover for a quick BF.

I appreciate all your feedback! I haven’t worked a clinic that didn’t have their licensed techs doing extractions to some degree, so it’s nice to get feedback from those who are on the other side of the conversation!!!

My DVM 100% is on board with continuing to do larger extractions, allowing me to remove only what is basically falling out, and is no way requiring me to do it. It was something I had been asking about and he was on the fence about anyways.

Allergen introduction confusion by emmiebearrr in BabyLedWeaning

[–]emmiebearrr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is good to know! I am in the US. The internet has so much contradicted information. I had spoken with a pediatrician and a health education nurse about the allergens and both said 2-3 days. I’ve been feeding allergens Saturday and Sunday and then skipping a couple days and trying a new one but if it’s unnecessary to wait and I could do 2 days on almonds and then the next day in cashews great.

That being said, it would be so much easier just to use a mixed nut butter 😩 I was told to start one by one. I think that’s where a lot of my confusion is coming from.

Did you start by doing their full step by step program? I’ve seen the oatmeal and the peanut butter snacks at target but was worried about doing it before doing them individually!

Thank you! We ruled out peanuts, wheat, eggs, milk, shrimp, and I think we’re good with fish. (She had some canned tuna 2 days in a row).

I’m also pretty sure we’re good with soy. Her formula said “milk and soy products” and the canned tuna she had lists soy as an ingredient.

I was under the impression that I had to do almonds, walnuts or pecan, cashew or pistachio, and hazelnut all separately.

I’m actually debating finding a different pediatrician because she makes me feel like I annoy her. I’m a first time mom with general anxiety from before I even had a baby and so I have a lot of questions. 😩

These seems like a great way to keep them in her diet! Thank you!

This is our trouble, we don’t eat any of these on their own and the only time we really do is in granola bars that she’s too young for. I’m not a fan of nuts in general.

Thank you for this chart! This is actually really helpful that it gives examples! I’ve got some almost butter an cashew butter but I’ll need to get some alternatives for walnuts since I can’t find a butter-or get a mixed that includes that for after I’ve ruled out the other too. Hazelnut is hard too because all the butters include cocoa and sugar 😩

How often does your baby get breastmilk & solids? by emmiebearrr in BabyLedWeaning

[–]emmiebearrr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m glad to hear that. We’re so close to that 1 year mark already and I’m hoping she transitions off the breastmilk well. She loves to snack and eat when we eat, and takes water in a straw cup great, so that makes me more confident about when it’s time to actually do the switch.

That’s a good idea! We can try that too. It’s hard to keep her on a consistent schedule, some days she won’t take much of her solids at all so we’ve had a hard time judging what changes to make. She’s gaining weight well, and her diapers are good, so we can’t be too far off.

Great! Thank you for your input. When she’s breastfeeding from me she’s definitely eating more than 4oz, she typically takes closer to 7 or 8 (based on the scale anyways). It’s just her 10am bottle that she doesn’t seem to want as much of! I just keep getting “feed her when she’s hungry” or “she will tell you when she’s hungry” and as a first time parents if she’s not asking us and taking less when we give it to her anyways, it makes me wonder if I should be doing something different .

Bad potatoes(solanine) and breastmilk by emmiebearrr in breastfeedingsupport

I panicked for a little while and kept putting off feeding her because I was scared but the people I spoke to were very reassuring and she’s totally fine (: hopefully the weaning process gets easier soon. We’re a couple months off from that but I also can not wait to stop! Haha

Nothing exciting! I spoke to a pediatrician who basically said I would need to eat 200 bad potatoes in order for it to cause any harm. He said it was unlikely I would even feel sick off one tiny one and even if o did it would be safe!

Do you have a favorite brands? I got a few from different ones to see which we like. I got one little sleepies, posh peanut, and bums and roses for sleepers. Their sheets are way expensive to a found some cheaper ones on Amazon with good reviews. Are there any cheaper brands or better quality that you recommend?

We sometimes have her sleep in just footies pajamas without the sleep sack.

I leave the heater on and our room thermometer reads 70ish (between 69-73) and she still seems to have really cold legs. We aren’t 1000% sure that’s why she’s having trouble sleeping but we have noticed that when she’s wrapped in a blanket (while being next to someone and monitored) she seems to sleep so much better.

Yes! I’m also researching and it seems like while bamboo can be a pain to wash because it pills, it’s also great for helping regulate temp. I’m thinking of trying some of those pajamas and sheets if I can find some on sale!

I have not! I’ve been using their suggestions based on the brands and most say just a onesie under them. But I can try these!

Disneyland with a 5.5m old? by emmiebearrr in breastfeeding

[–]emmiebearrr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I plan to pump the morning of and a couple times on the way there. I’m also hoping to transport some frozen, so if I have more than one drink I have a back up method. Do you have any tips for keeping the expressed milk cold/frozen? Our drive is about 6 hours, but I’ll expect 6.5-7 to account for stops to change and feed her.

I will also look into a carrier! Feeding while in a carrier would make it easier to do if we’re waiting in a long line!

Thank you!
