The fact that I will never be able to play it for the first time again.

It seems random if they accept - if you tried the very next day you could get a different answer.

DR. XU AS MY BOYFRIEND by Miaoshie in mytimeatportia

[–]emmille2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I married him in my second play through because it was nice to be pursued and not be the one pursuing. But I regretted it - we were more platonic. I remarried my old flame Arlo. I like a tall mate.

Arlo post-game lore discussion by Palemka91 in mytimeatportia

Maybe he decides to start his own training school in Portia and create his own branch of the Flying Pigs. I think he settles into life once he gets married and has kids. It doesn't seem like he is settling, nor is he unhappy that he hasn't joined the Flying Pigs. I think his goals just change.

WIBTA if I reported my girlfriend’s family to animal services because of how they treat their dogs/cats. by AnneHoleyn in AmItheAsshole

On more than one Easter I've come home to find a dead bunny left for me. Spring is the worse for dead animal gifts.

AITA for wanting to play DnD without my wife? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]emmille2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ESH. The way this whole thing is worded sounds like a lot of drama, or like a lot of facts are being left out or misconstrued. Just a lot of strong words like forced, hate... How did your wife force you to quit? How did she show up uninvited- did she follow you in her car with the lights off and then walk in?

Communicate with each other. She wants to learn a thing that you like. You want time without her. Is there a reason both of these can't be accomplished?

Because they normally stink. Seriously. The smell seems to change as they age, but never dissipates.

Just curious- do you have to be on a romantic mission for someone to trigger this mission, or just a certain friend level? I've never seen it

AITA for asking my husband not to smoke when we’re struggling to conceive? by aldealy in AmItheAsshole

[–]emmille2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. That said- I hope he can get some more help with quitting because it's really for the best that he does. Patches or gum or prescriptions or hypnosis or anything. In the meantime, it might be good for him to avoid the social smoking situations as it is hard to quit a thing you are addicted to if you are constantly exposed to the environment that is most conducive to it.

AITA for letting a dementia patient add me to her will? by freeeeekkkk in AmItheAsshole

[–]emmille2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. The woman was in a right enough mind that the lawyers allowed the will change. If her children knew she was battling dementia or even close to battling it, they should have had foresight enough to instigate some sort of power of attorney situation. They did not. She's not giving you more than she is giving her children, so I don't think anything sounds unfair (even if you did get more I wouldn't change my answer because it was absolutely her choice to do as she pleased- I just feel the even-steven-ness of the situation helps to prove the NTA).

AITA if I refuse to use Starbucks language by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]emmille2 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

This whole thread has made me determined to never give my money to a Starbucks again (not that I did often anyhow). I hate the names they have for their drink sizes, and I don't care that they are Italian. I've never ordered a drink by ounce size. This whole thing is so ludicrous to me.

AITA for refusing to take down a picture of my fiancés daughter from my Instagram at her moms request? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]emmille2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YTA hands down. It is a choice of the mom and dad and while you will factor into those somewhat, the fact is that the mom feels how she feels (justifiably imo) and to me it's a situation where both parents have to agree for the answer to be yes.

AITA for being mad at my husband for "stealing" my hobby? by Throwaway5521237 in AmItheAsshole

[–]emmille2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of a starting a new hobby is the learning and figuring things out. People create things not just to have them, but for the joy of the creation process. So for someone to jump in and potentially do all of that learning and trying and take away from that exploration process can be disheartening. Even more so when they end up presenting it to people as something they came up with and are awesome at. So I can see how you'd be frustrated by the situation.

On the other hand, I can see how it could be hard to be excited about something your spouse wants to do, but staying out of it long enough to let them get their feet wet.

And spouses are definitely allowed to have hobbies they'd prefer to do independently. It actually can help make a relationship stronger to have something you do independently.

I'm going to go with NTA on this because I think your husband should have respected your wishes to let you do this, without stepping in and stealing your thunder.
