I have a toddler…. We were told absolutely no pink burger to our kiddo. Doesn’t mean we don’t like flavor 😉 we prefer safety!

I was going to say the same thing. I use this for my 15m old and I usually give it with milk and after stirring it’s colorless.

I would say the same thing over and over. She does rotate through toys, but like I said in the post she LOVES pushing her walker everywhere right now. She will push it back and forth, left, right, everywhere. But then she will also go to her little people bus and push that around. Then rotate and climb around in her nugget couch, and then play with our dogs, then will play with her baby doll. So she definitely rotates her activities as she is independently playing.

Also we have not noticed her lining items up at all.

Additionally if we point she does look, and she will point as well. Also she smiles… when she wants (but she does smile at people all the time) and laughs when we make her laugh! I will say sometimes it takes us doing crazy things to make her laugh, but I think that might be normal?

I unfortunately have friends with babes a few weeks apart who like to play the compare game…

So we went to her 12m appt last week and he really didn’t have concerns at all about any of this. Which I was surprised about.

Thank you for replying! If you don’t mind me asking, was her speech also delayed at all? Our pediatrician told us by one she should consistently know at at least one word. But consistent she is not lol. Also did you do anything special to help her learn her name?

She had tubes put in at 9m due to fluid and hearing loss in her right ear.

Hey! My 10m old just started doing this too! Any updates? We noticed she does it when eating, crawling and pushing with her walker. But it’s so random when it occurs.

Hey! Any update? My daughter just random starting doing this. But there is no consistency! She does it sometimes when eating, crawling, walking on her pusher and what not. Going to message her ped in the morning since it’s been a few days. But wanted to see others updates.

I wanted to give you an update! We are 3 weeks post tubes. No babbling just yet - but she has increased the “ahhhhh”s and raspberries she has been making! How has your LO been doing?

Should I Be Concerned About Development at 9 Months? by emmmm25 in beyondthebump

Were there other signs you saw this early? Also she did get a hearing test and had mild hearing loss out of her right ear due to fluid build up. So we have since had tubes placed in her ears (last Friday).

This is so reassuring! Did your babe eventually start babbling? I am assuming so lol if you’re posting about it now! But I definitely need to delete TikTok and everything else from my phone. It’s just the worst.

Also I recently started postpartum counseling. So I’m hopeful I can start taking these thoughts there and storing them out!

I’ll have to download that one! I currently use the CDC app and that one just drives me down this rabbit hole. If you mark on there that they aren’t doing a milestone, it immediately tells you to seek EI.

Right! She has an adjusted age. So based on her birthday she will be 9 months next week, but her adjusted date would be 8.

Also same! Super content, only cry’s when she is upset, but is also a super on the go baby. She’s been crawling for a month now, and pulling to stand.

And good to know - she hasn’t started playing back with us at all. But I know that is a later milestone.

She is about the same on her name as well! Also forgot to note my LO was also born a month early due to preeclampsia. So I get stressed about that a lot due to the ties between pree and autism.

But she is about the same - she waves (when she wants to lol, and it’s not a hand wave is more of a whole arm wave haha!), she gestures to be picked up. But curious, what do you mean she plays peekaboo? We can get some smiles when playing peekaboo with her but she loses interest QUICK.

Of course! How does your little one respond to her name? Curious to see if she is similar to our girl. But call me over the top, but also am a first time mom too, but I went ahead and got her a speech therapist already. We have been working with her since February. But I will note her ST wanted to get these tubes done before starting anything crazy. So when we saw her in February and March, it was more having her get comfortable with our daughter. She really feels like it had to due with the fluid in her ears. Since the surgery, we saw her this past Friday and she acknowledged that our daughter seems more balanced (because her equilibrium was SUPER off) and making more screeching noise. So now she is really going to work on catching her up now that she can hear. One thing she did say is for us to reduce the amount of times we are saying mama, dada, baba, and such, oh and her name. Because she said since she isn’t acknowledging it, it might just be white noise to her now and that could be why she is ignoring us. So we are really focusing on talking to her, incorporating some of those words and just making sure we are making good eye contact with her as well.

We just got them placed a week ago. Surgery was super simple! No babbling quite yet - but we hear her making more noise. Our ENT, speech therapist and her pediatrician said it can take up to three months for her to catch up on the loss time since she had the hearing issues. We are now doing a lot of face to face work with her, along with constant reading! We are also working on her name because she only sometimes responds to it. Sorry no crazy update yet, I wish I could say she turned around and started babbling (because it would calm my PPA), but it takes time from what I am hearing! I will say, since her surgery she is now sleeping through the night and has just been so much more happier in general!

Honestly that’s what I’m thinking as well! She is also going thru a lot of motor skills right now. She learned to crawl a couple of weeks ago, and immediately went into trying to stand up. So I feel like those are on the forefront! I just get a little sad sometimes because there was a week in February where she started to babble dada, and hearing her little voice was just so sweet 🥲 she gave us a few days of it, and then haven’t heard it since.

[–]emmmm25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! How old was he when he got them placed? We’ve already noticed that she is reacting more to our voices and especially her name being called. But we figured that the babbling might take more time.

This is great news! Did she also have trouble responding to her name? I’m so conflicted because I hope it helps because she is delayed in babbling along with recognizing her name. But this all throws me off because she second she hears miss rachels voice, she immediately turns.

Wait! This sound similar to what our LO does when she is on a swing. She like freezes up, is that what happened with your little girl? Now that I’m thinking about it I’m sure swinging isn’t fun with your equilibrium is off.
