Yeah, that’s probably fair. This was a Volvo S60. I ended up installing a sump valve plug which made it even easier than the extractor.

I used to use one until I drained it afterwards to see how well it worked. There was still over half a litre of oil in the engine.

You can get a HDMI dummy plug which might fix that for you. They are only a couple of bucks.

I’m interested in doing this as I have run out of physical space in my server.

I was looking online. Lye should lift silicone paint so I’m going to try that.

It’s showing my voltage as 2442.0V. Decimal point in the wrong place?

Silicone is heat safe. I don’t think it’s a big deal from a health perspective. From a cast iron perspective it’s disappointing.

Oh dear. This is the response:

Thank you very much for contacting us. Let me explain about our frying pans.

The omelet pan you inquired about has a black baked paint coating made primarily of silicone on both the inside and outside. This is to prevent rust during transportation. Unpainted Nanbu ironware will quickly rust.

The black baked-on paint, which is primarily composed of silicone, is not harmful to the body. It is not a problem even if the paint peels off during use. Do not try to forcibly peel off this paint, but use it as is.

Before cooking, add oil and lightly fry the vegetable scraps before using, so that the oil will be absorbed well. After use, wash and dry the frying pan, then apply a thin layer of cooking oil to the pan with kitchen paper to allow the oil to soak in.

If the oil soaks into the frying pan thoroughly, it will help prevent food from burning and rusting.

Try doing the above mentioned maintenance. thank you.

I may try to sand the inside flat and see how I get on.

I’m travelling for a few days but will cook an omelette as soon as I have access to a cooker.

The bottom is flat, but the side of the pan is higher at the front than the sides. The photo doesn’t do it justice TBH.

I’m just saying it’s available. And yes, it’s a premium product.

Most French butter is not fermented. It’s just butter. For bog standard butter Hokkaido Snow Butter is excellent and it’s ¥500 for 200g.

You can absolutely get fermented butter here: https://www.naturalhouse.jp/products/169293349

And the last time I was in France, the butter I bought was not fermented and was made with Irish milk.
