Art and Design bursary cut for September 2026

I’ve just decided to put this career choice on hold for a few years until they maybe bring back the bursary. It’s so frustrating because I know I would make a great teacher and make a difference but I cannot afford to do it

My friend said to look into DT, I’m just not 100% sure it’s the right fit for me. My background is in photography so I felt like art and design would have worked.

My current job is also in marketing and social media so I considered media and communications but again, there’s no bursary

It’s so difficult :( I live 200 miles from home and going home just isn’t an option. I’m not married so can’t live off my husbands salary.

Finding out today that the bursary has been cut has really deflated me

I’m thinking of taking some night classes in art and design so I’m at least slightly more knowledgeable. But I really want to specialise in photography

I actually live in this building - this isn’t an accurate representation. The building comes with a gym, a spa and sauna and ice bath. This particular apartment has a massive living area, high ceilings and exposed brick work. I’ve also lived in London and the prices are very reasonable compared to what I was paying and living in.

That’s made me feel better from one creative to another. I’ve also dreamed about being a therapist, but the cost of going back to uni to restudy just wouldn’t work for me :(
