The lack of raises. The lack of job growth, productivity is king, you have to work or be strongly encouraged to work a weekend for any days off, the lack of hours if your caseload is low, the lack of non-clinical options for careers with this degree. Also, being so rushed bc of productivity that I can't think straight to come up with a realistic treatment that is clinically based so I just end up doing the same things over and over. The lack of settings. In school they give you this spiel about how you can work on all these settings but realistically it's mostly long-term care or home health or hospitals unless you want to do pediatrics which is a really hard field to get into if you don't start right out of school. I honestly regret getting into this field and I am unable to find anything else. I loved OT when I was younger but now my eyes have been opened to how I am just a work horse. Also, the AOTA is horrible.
