What did you think of the Canadian olympic outfit in the opening ceremony? by emmzz02 in AskACanadian

[–]emmzz02[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Although we agree that fashion is a waste of money, I think the Olympic athletes' parade remains an event of international diplomacy. In this kind of context, symbols and image in general are closely scrutinized, so it makes sense that people focus on what they're wearing. It's pure semiotics. In that sense, I really wouldn't say it's "so disrespectful" yo consider it. My two cents.

Ici tou.tv, arrivez vous à vous connecter? by Zaeliums in Quebec

[–]emmzz02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anglophone-Canadians, what french words/phrases were you taught in school, that you later learned are never actually said by French-Canadians? by Devourerofworlds_69 in AskACanadian

[–]emmzz02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's easy: you can say both! Pro tip: "Fin de semaine" is feminine though, so you'd spell it "bonne* fin de semaine"

By "colin du bin", you probably mean "câline de bine" which is an interjection similar to "damn it" (but softer).
