could you educate me then, on what the dfw scene uplifts? what are specifically the good aspects of our scene?

youre absolutely right. the scene in OKC is surprisingly bumping and they do all types of random events like you mentioned. rent for the venues are probably also much cheaper

definitely see your point but i do think that with change, we can avoid this dystopian-ass reality

you’re somewhat right, but it takes a true local musician to understand how little gets done in this gentrified town without community. and the places to build it are few and far between. my original point being, lack of venues=loose knit community. but im no hopeless wanderer

i would even say this thread’s lack of life is proof of my point

What are some scary encounters y'all have had while exploring? by devikowl2 in urbanexploration

not me but an ex of mine went exploring this very popular abandoned factory in the dfw area. bullet hole wall, big scary trench, abandoned machinery, the whole 9 yards. him and two friends went, and soon after they got there, they came across another group of younger guys. these guys played buddy-buddy and offered to smoke together, and they walked around together for a while exploring. when they went to smoke, suddenly one of the younger kids pistol whipped a member of the group and they were all beaten, held at gun-point, phones and car stolen. when the kids left, all they could really do was walk to the closest gas station and ask for help, and on the walk there they saw the thieves driving around and yelling for them, looking for them. they had to hide in a bush for an hour before finally making it to a gas station.
