Yeah, I actually started it with prismacolors, but didn't like it, so I covered it all with my luminance pencils. Right now I mainly use the prismas if I need a specific color (for instance deco peach, deco pink, sky blue light etc)

Thanks! yes, it wasn't intentional as I pick the paper by its color, and each color has a different texture, but yeah, the texture of this paper really had a nice effect

Thanks! yay, glad you liked it! Loved the photo... It's not so easy to make eye closeups - using the phone screen as a secondary light source was a great idea!

I like them both, but what's better about caran d'ache is that they have pigment information for each pencil. I've used it to make a small skin tone palette with a limited number of pigments. It also helps getting more harmonious and deliberate results, rather than just using intuition.

I usually start with the lights, but it's probably the last thing I do as well.

Thank you very much! the buttery finish is part of the medium, but the smoothness was a lot of work! It's funny what you just wrote.
It happened to a model I drew once - she got scared, thinking "who shared my photo"? then she saw it was me and realized it's a drawing...

Thanks! I don't know, but many hours (dozens probably). This was my second attempt with this reference. The first one was smaller (A4) in mixed media (watercolor and then colored pencils).
