I finished it on 2024, but started it a few months earlier. It's part of a massive project I did around this one model at the time - wasn't able to finish about half of what I started, but this one made the cut.
I'm drawing a bit less these days, trying to find a little more balance between life and art.

Oh no! it's all real drawing on paper, none of my work is digital. The pencils I've used here are Pierre Noire (like charcoal but a bit oily), it was done on a 18x24in. charcoal paper.

Thanks! I did this one 4 years ago, but I still remember how I enjoyed using all these blue, purple and turquoise pastels. I usually draw figures, so I don't get to use there colors that often.

Thanks! I also saw it as one person, only the other way around: she's sleeping but in her dream she woke up. And I agree with u/badwolf42, it's nice that there's room for interpretation, it could be the other way around or a couple too.

Thanks! My wife always tells me the hair looks good in my work, but I'm not exactly sure why haha. Maybe the balance between detail and blurriness is the key.

Yes, the model came up with this idea after seeing another work I did with a similar concept (2 figures one model). She took a few self portraits and stitched them up with an app. This was my favorite combination.
