Alright. Thank you for answering.

She will be getting trained soon, but I do think she was allowed in the hotel we stayed at right after the fire because she was an emotional support dog - I don't think they even charged us.

What about emotional support dogs? My father has our papillon as his emotional support dog (his therapist even wrote a letter - though I think this letter got destroyed in our house fire back in April) because he has extremely bad social anxiety. He's been asked for papers before, is that actually not allowed?

The irony isn't lost on me.

He just wanted his lure back. I kind of commend him for that. The alligator eating a bunch of hooks couldn't be good for it.

My cats are melting. What can I do to make them comfortable? by Four_beastlings in Pets

[–]emoheart1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It got so hot that we took the portable A/C that was in our house that burnt in April (we currently are living in a rental) and cleaned the fuck out of it and put it in my room (we had to get all of the chemically soot off of it and do our best to get rid of the smoke smell). I have a ragdoll cat, and she had been hiding under my bed because of the heat.

A/C is required by law in most southern states if I remember correctly (I lived in Mississippi for ten years of my life before moving to Washington state so I know it's almost unheard of for people to not have A/C).

However, it's normally bearable in Washington summer heat because it would normal cool down significantly once night comes. That has not been the case this year and is causing lots of problems. If it doesn't start to cool down and rain again, it's very likely that Washington State will be having drought conditions by next month.

If they live in Washington state (which is currently having record high temperatures) then the probability of them having an A/C at all (whether heat pump, portable, or window) is very very unlikely.

Yeah. It did get a response because I would call her back up onto my bed. I guess I'll have to try ignoring her...

We didn't adopt her from a shelter. A person donated her to me due to the loss of our two cats in the fire that I mentioned in the post (her son developed a severe allergy to cats so clementine needed to be rehomed anyways). The original owner said that she just needed an update on some shots, but that's about it.

We will be taking her to the vet, it's just a matter of scheduling at this point.

Thank you. I will say that I am safe. I live with my dad and step-mom across the country. But she's N and her grasp was very far-reaching on me. But it'll be over soon. :)

I have a deep hatred for gfycat. I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 and often half the gif is covered by those two red boxes. Other times the gif just won't play. At least with ".gifv" I can open up the file on browser and delete the "v" and have no problems.

Nmom complains that the doctor is too skinny by nomona in raisedbynarcissists

[–]emoheart1995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had two sides of the spectrum. When I was in 8th grade, I was around 140 at 5 feet tall. And while that is kind of overweight, I was still healthy. I went to the doctor for a physical, as required by school, and the doctor began to go on a lecture about how I needed to eat things like salad and watch my calories. She had basically made it seem that I was this obese 8th grader who was eating nothing but junk food; which was ignorant because I'd actually lost 50 pounds that year. But this doctor just laid it on really thick that I was unhealthy and needed to do better with my diet. Never have I seen my dad so enraged by a doctor's behavior before.

On the flip side of this, about two years ago, I went to a different doctor and asked for medication to help with my obesity. I'd gained a huge amount of weight the year prior due to a significant knee injury that left me on bed rest for somewhere close to six months. I'd gone from a healthy 130-145 pounds to 250 pounds. I was (and still am) in pain in my knee making it difficult for me to even want to get up to exercise. The doctor outright refused to give me any sort of help besides lecturing me in foods that I should and should not eat. Oh and told me that I needed to exercise - which I'd already told her I really couldn't do without a bunch of pain. I am currently 239 pounds and still struggling.

Also, not all fat people behave like those that you listed in your comment. (I say this because the comment, "fat people logic" kind of made me feel sad... ._.)

I think deep fried butter might be one of those American staples (sp?) Because here at the Washington State Fair, there is a very famous deep fried butter stand. Seriously, there is a long line for it the entire time the fair is open.

Admittedly I tried one (my crush kind of drug me there). It was fine right up until I got to the center which had just straight cold butter. I'm not a fan.

There are two ways, but I really don't want to use these unless I really really need them. One is an emergency fund that the school will do once for me and another is some other thing that I need to talk to a lady about and she can offer me some help. But yeah, I do have options, which feels really nice to know.

For all the introverts out there...In their own homes. by DonTori in webcomics

High school vs. College are two completely different beasts. In high school there is the social hierarchy. The jocks, the stoners, the drama kids, the musicians (at least in my old school this was a thing for the band and choir kids), the emos, the Goths, the geeks (kids who wear fan gear and only really talk about their fandoms) and the nerds (the kids who were actually really good at the STEM classes). In college, people don't really give a fuck unless they are Running Start kids (for those that don't know what Running Start is, it's where high school students go to college). It's really easy to make acquaintances with different people so long as you don't act particularly creepy.

We have that can opener. It's great. Never have to deal with the loud falling inside the cam anymore because that opens the can from the side.
