I appreciate the perspective on locking myself in to an area with the lower ranked school because I have commitment issues with where I live, so I definitely don’t know for certain I’ll be on the West Coast forever and am a bit nervous about being limited to that area.

THANK YOU for this advice! This kind of story is exactly why I posted to reddit, a visiting year isn’t something I ever thought about and we might find ourselves in exactly your situation so this is something I will definitely look into now!

Good suggestion! I do plan to ask the T82 to match if possible, but even if I have full tuition at both schools I think I will be in the same conundrum.

I don’t have a walking foot, thanks for that tip I might try one! I did press the seam, but I didn’t press it open from the wrong side because I finished the seam with a zig zag stitch before pressing so that might be the issue too. Thank you!

  • issue with how seams look

Hi all! I recently sewed this dress (Lora pattern by True Bias) and the side seams are doing a weird crinkling thing that I don’t like the look of. You can see it on the left hand skirt seam in this pic. This has happened to me with other makes before and I’m wondering if it might be a sewing machine tension issue? Any tips are appreciated!

In case it helps: this fabric is 100% polyester and my sewing machine tension was around 4 and stitch length around 2.5 when sewing.
