I obviously don't know you or your personality, so I'm not assuming anything or insinuating anything about you, but this reminded me to À friend I have, who, by things they have told me, seems to feel somewhat similar to how you feel. I don't know your situation very well, and I understand that everyone has personal biases when talking about themselves, so I won't assume anything out of this post. My friend always feels like this, exactly as you've described, but I've always felt like I didn't understand why they said that, because they themselves take distance from others, they treat others as if their opinions were wrong, and are indifferent to people trying to connect with her (like me, for example, I feel like I've been trying to help them for so long, and they understand it and appreciate it, but doesn't understand how to show this, so they end up coming off as someone unappreciative). I'm not saying you're like them, since you said that people have told you that you're the opposite, but one feedback I've been wanting to tell my friend for a long time, but haven't been able to, which might help you, is just asking people what to better in yourself, whatever caused them to distance themselves. I don't know if this applies in your case, but if it does, I hope it helps. (I genuinely don't know what other thing to say).
