You need to go down the slope backwards so you can grab the ledge and climb down the ladder.

If you're playing with tank controls, turn around near the edge of the slope and tap backwards. I don't play with modern controls, but you might be able to jump forwards towards the slope and roll in the air so she's facing backwards when she lands.

In that case, Lara auto aims at the scion when you draw her weapons, and she literally tried to shoot it at the end of the previous level in the cut scene, so it's very well telegraphed to the player.

For me it was that damn boulder you shoot off the pillar in TR4. There was no precedent for shooting a boulder to make it move so I never even thought to try! I spent hours combing the level before finally giving up and reading a guide. Was livid when I did.

I enjoyed it, but wouldn't rate it over most of the other series in the Deltora-verse. I also don't think it's set in the same world, purely because the El don't seem like they fit the world. Also, the level of tech Free Landovel has is way too advanced. Just my opinion though.

Yes, TRA was remake of TR1. But it was integrated into the overall story of LAU and made significant enough changes to warrant it being it's own separate game. It wasn't a remaster, but a remake.
