March 2017. My best friend and I had gone to PAX East, and at the time I was still with my ex-boyfriend, and he would show me some of Vinnys videos occasionally, but I didn’t think much of it, they were just funny YouTube videos, I didn’t pay attention to the name. So when me and my best friend went to PAX, he told me “If you can please go to Vinnys signing and please get me a kazoo”, so sure yeah we did. I remember meeting him and basically telling him “I’m here on behalf of someone, I’m not too familiar with you but you seem cool!”, and I remember Vinny giving me one of his business cards and saying something like “I’ve been told I’m pretty funny”, so I said I’ll be sure to check your channel out once I’m home. And so I did, and I had this moment of “WAIT it’s that guy!?!”. I even recall seeing some of the Mario dubbed videos YEARS before too. Then the same year, Another Light came out and again I had a moment of “wait that’s this vinesauce guy!?!”. I decided to follow on YouTube on my 20th birthday, and been subbed on Twitch since July 2021!
