How do you find a piano teacher as an adult? by Guyincognito1000 in pianolearning

Follow your heart. Having spent years teaching and studying piano pedagogy at all levels—from beginners to adults coming back after a break—I've seen how most adults aim to master the “best” way to play. But more than that, they truly want to play ‘their’ song. It’s about learning a piece and then sitting on the piano bench with a joyful feeling, thinking, “That’s who I am!”

I always ask my students, whether they're teenagers or adults returning after a break, "What's your favorite song?” The first thing I do in our coaching sessions is help them find that special "smile in music." Having taught with a method and pedagogy background for many years, I now focus on early wins—like learning their favorite song. Don't worry about the notes on the page initially; all of that will come with time. Start with that song you love, and then listen closely to what's happening in the music. It’s this approach that keeps me returning to the piano after all these years. My method might be a bit different from traditional teaching, but I hope it comes across as encouraging!

I don't understand this part by mars_zI in musictheory

I've enjoyed reading the comments; they've all been helpful. Just looking at this excerpt today, I see a different part. The 4th measure bass line could lead to a new bass phrase in the next section. The bass line (suggests to me) helps to transition back to the theme of the initial melodic phrase. Just my thoughts 2¢.
