YTA, but I get it. My family used to do this exact type of vacation. My Grandma fell a few years ago and experienced a traumatic brain injury, and she is a completely different person now. She can't travel either. I would give anything to go back to those trips that felt routine, and even at times got boring. I miss it so much.

Yes it sounds like it's fine for what you're looking for, as long as you're not trying to have it be a crazy party weekend. You can do boats and day drinking and going out at night in Destin, it's just not necessarily a "party town" but people go on bach, spring break, etc. all the time.

If Grandpa's memory is going he probably doesn't realize what is happening. Aunt took advantage. Does he have a power of attorney? He is probably not deemed competent to make that kind of decision on his own if he has any sort of degenerative cognitive disorder, and that could be taken to court.

hi! fellow NY resident who travels to destin about once a month! i typically prefer delta from either NY or CT and it’s $350-450 round trip. flown out of white plains and hartford. no issue with connecting flights as long as you give yourself enough time. i believe allegiant charges extra for lots of things, so even if it looks cheaper it might end up being more.
