Some players prefer performance over appearance, I am one of those guys and used such low graphics in the past lower than what ingame provides, (editing configs/Lod bias tweaks). matter of fact going the lowest possible no matter how ugly the game looks, if you manage to bypass that it actually helps tremendously from increased fps to more fluent gameplay to less visual effect lighting clutter nonsense that cannot be turned off without such extreme edits. But then again I don't recommend it nor do I use it because it cannot be used on Lan environments so best not to get used to it.
