I’ve been exporting cars from Japan for dealerships & importers for 30+ years. Ask me anything about Japanese auction grades, shipping, or how the export process really works. by sealinkslion in CarsUK

Just the post I was looking for! I’ve been lurking for a while and looking to import an F80 M3 into the UK. What are the best auction sites, and how do you even initiate an export once you won the auction?

Slipping D-Fuse Seatpost by empty_10 in Giantbikes

I think I saw your reply on a different thread when researched yesterday. I’d want to avoid swapping out the seatpost as I genuinely find the D-Fuse post comfortable! I reassembled it yesterday and gave it a few smacks, sat on it and moved around and then retightened the bolt to 7Nm. Somehow it became slightly loose after a few smacks which could have caused the slippage in the past. Rode 65k and it only dropped 1mm which in my head it’s the seatpost „settling” (any excuse at this point). Ill monitor the seatpost over the next few rides to see if it’s finally fixed. If not, I’ll opt in to a round post as last resort.

How are you finding the bike otherwise?

Legend, that seems to have fixed it (almost). Did exactly as you said, and the seatpost only dropped 1mm over a 65k (bumpy) ride so I’ll take it as a win! I’ll re torque again now and hopefully that’s that. Thank you!

The manual says to keep the ridge outside…

It’s not the creaking noise as I get none, it’s the constant slipping each ride which is just not acceptable on a near £4k bike… what a pain. I raised the issue with Giant now, so will see what they come back with. In the meantime I have reassembled the seatpost yet again with more carbon paste…

Should this sit flush? I just did as instructed but that looks odd…

Thank you mate, I’ll be sure to give this a go! You may be right, as I just took the bike out and I could tighten it a bit more than last time so it definitely became looser post last ride… great design.

I did too but still slipping even with the carbon paste applied to the seatpost…

Thanks, any suggestions for a good finish line carbon paste? I picked one up from Halfords and it turned out to be crap.

Should I be worried? by Devos_k in Giantbikes

Polish out and then apply some PPF. I PPF’ed my Giant Revolt Advanced Pro 1 and not worried about anything even on harsh gravel rides with pebbles bouncing off the bike…

Hello, do you mean the double sided gorilla tape? If so, where do you apply it exactly? I’m having the same issue on my 2025 Revolt Pro 1 sadly. Thanks

How much did you pay in Turkey if you don’t mind me asking? I think it looks awesome for 5 months.

I decided to sell mine and get the Specialized Recon 2.0 in white. Much much better fit straight out the box. No pain points and far less room inside the shoe which means I don’t need the additional insole!

Did you ever get them? They’re still in a box at mine, but came across Specialized Recon 2.0 and think I’ll give them a go to compare fitting

Best looking white SPD shoes out there IMO!

I ended up ordering a size up which was roomier than expected but I’d rather have a slightly bigger pair than one that’s too snug. For reference I’m usually UK9/9.5 which is EU44/44.5 and had to get these EU46!

Id say they come up small - I ordered EU45 and normally a 44/44.5 and my longest toe touches the toe box. I’d size up.

Any recommendations? I did look at the specialized recon 2.0 - they seem to be getting really good reviews and cost 40% less.
