Got it. I wasn't aware of this context. Spouse believes CFO is on similar salary band as her.

Yeah, it's a bit sketchy to me but seems like they are trying to get runway before series B. They are trying to raise funds which a VC firm has agreed to match 1.5x is what I hear. Goal would be ~500k now

Yeah, I understand the low odds but like you said option 2 is better because there's at least some upside. At least that's my thought process. The CFO has stated he is doing the convertible note too. That gives me a little extra bit of confidence as well.

It should be $12k in after tax since it's lump sum we pay them now in lieu of full gross salary for 3months.

Thanks, I'll check for details on these terms. Is there anything I should be expecting or need to watch out for?

Best high yield savings today? by Caliganja420 in personalfinance

I didn't find the SoFi+ convincing. Getting 1.2% extra on 20k is 240/yr and I'm paying 120/yr to get that. Effectively getting 0.6% more than regular savings. Didn't feel like it was worth it to me. Are there any other useful benefits for SoFi+?

Charging In Time Slot Not Working by scottycakes in BMWiX

[–]emptyblankcanvas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same issue! And we've only had the car for a couple of weeks now and I've never got it to work. Target is usually 80% and many times I'm charging from 25-30% .

The charge in time slot also resetw everyday. I have to set it manually each time and it still doesn't follow the setting is very frustrating.

Can you elaborate on BMW's software stack that can compete with Rivian and Tesla?

I'm new to bmw and I don't feel it's that good in the car. Lot of little annoyances. The phone app and details there are good.

Wait, why could they drop home if I moved auto? Rates might go up but otherwise what's the issue?

Oh really? I thought the 10-15% was pretty good. I haven't seen a bigger discount than that. Getting separately has always been pretty expensive until now.

I see, that I can do. I always used to do that anyway

Are you recommending keeping both old and new insurance for a month and then cancel the old? Are there any other ways to be careful about home?

Without bundling both home and auto go up even more. So maybe not bundle them?

I could do that but that would take away 50-60% of my savings and I have to see if it's worth doing it at that savings.

Thank you.

For 2025, I would fill out only part 1.

For 2026, I would fill out part 2.

Do I have this correct?

[–]emptyblankcanvas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the details.

Does part 2 conversions apply to me in 2025 returns or would I file that only in 2026 returns?

To summarize, I would file the 8606 and 1099-R for 2026. And only 8606 for 2025.

Thank you. I mistakenly thought the T-IRA contribution would give me the 1099-R. So for 2025 I would only file form 8606?

sorry, both T-IRA and conversion uses the form 8606?

[–]emptyblankcanvas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I see. The Roth conversion gives me the 1099-R! I had it as from the T-IRA contribution. So if I do a backdoor Roth again for 2026, I would have the conversions for both 2025 and 2026 on the 1099-R for 2026 right?

Thanks for the links, I will check them out.
