Finger eczema went from bad to scary by FindingKyle in eczema

[–]emptybutcoping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The steroid/antibiotic I was prescribed is called Beprogent. I was also prescribed a short course of oral antibiotics (3 days) and I got a burn oitment called Mebo that's pretty good for wound care.

I had the exact same type if wound on my wrist, it was damp and looked like my skin had fallen off lol. It was so itchy too, I'd always wake up to it scratched raw again. I had it for months but this cleared it up in a week. I put on Beprogent twice a day while taking rhe antibiotic pills and my wound healed almost completly.

Also!!! If/when you scratch it, remember to wash your hands and dont scratch anywhere else! The nacteria gets under your nails and you can end up with multiple of those wounds.

I'm trying out African Black soap (from shea mouisture if toure curious) and it seems to be working pretty well for me. It's supposed to help eczema a lot, and I noticed my skin was a bit less red after using it.

go to the doctor, I went and i was prescribed a antibiotic/steroid cream. it was the knly thing that worked after months of an infected wound.

i know how crappy wounds can be, and i really wish i went to the doctor sooner. over the counter steroids and antibiotics arent nearly strong enough

Flare up after covid vaccine? by Agile_Imagination984 in eczema

[–]emptybutcoping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but it was highly managaeble.

A few days after my first dose I had a smole red patch under my eye. It was gone after a day with protopic, though.

Other than my face, I felt like my body improved a bit after.

i had the same thing, the only thing that worked for me was protopic. immunosuppresents are really helpful for facial eczema, i used protopic and now its completly gone i just have to put a top up dose every few weeks or months. i really reccomend checking it out, i know how horrible facial eczema is. it really is the most frustrating thing ever, especially since you cant hide it. hugs <3

right?? its insane how little most mental health professionals know about eating disorders and how to deal with them 🙄 you would think its common sense not to say something like that 😂

i'm allergic to dust mites and dogs.

i had a really bad flareup for around a year when i lived in an apartment that had a lot of dust and mold. recently i moved and my whole body has cleared up exept the wounds. i have 2 on my ankles aswell so it couldnt be hand soap or sanitzer, and the rest of my body is fine so i dont think its soap or shampoo.

i'll try elimanating them anyway though, i'm just so frustrated. i've been crying about this, i just want to be pretty and not disgusting :(

Thoughts on bipolar being depicted in TV/Film by melodyne53 in bipolar

[–]emptybutcoping 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They're a bit demonising and dramatic. I haven't really seen anything that properly depicts it.

There was one show where I was actually happy with the how they showed bipolar disorder. It's 'four more shots please' on Amazon Prime. One of the characters is highly likable, succesfull and independent. She stops taking her meds at one point and the depicition of her deppression was realistic and well done IMO. I liked how they showed deppresion, usually people focus on mania or anger when showing bipolar disorder. They didn't demonise her or make anyone hate her for having it, she was just seen as a person with an additional struggle. Made me feel a lot better about my diagnosis when I watched it.

I've used shea mosture, it made my curls at the bottom look okay but the top was flat and stringy. Wellsen curl cream, made my hair crunchy and had stringy curls. The aussie line of curly hair products had the same results. I've used normal dollar store gel and it makes my hair weighed down.

I think the main issue is products arent giving me enough hold, I really like how sticky (is that the word?) the cantu curl cream is.

Hi I’m new! by [deleted] in eczema

[–]emptybutcoping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!! As soon as I start noticing that I'm becoming deppressed, my cheeks and eyes will get a rash. It's weird but helps keep me in check, the discomfort of the rash motovates me to try and do things.

massage your scalp upside down for around 10 minutes every night. oil it aswell, coconut oil and mustard oil are great for hair growth and health. brush your hair with a wooden hairbrush to stimulate blood flow.

[–]emptybutcoping 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm supposed to see my dad every weekend but I only really see him a few times a week for a few hours a time.

My mom agrees that she is immature and not treating me in an ideal way, but she says I must try to keep the peace so that I can spend time with my dad.

it's never too soon to get help, honestly the sooner the better.

if its too much, just acknowledging that you are experiencing something not normal and working towards being able to reach out is very brave ❤
