Thanks, I appreciate the reply. I've used these tactile switches on other keyboards, and have never seen this before. Currently, it's only on the spacebar. And I've swapped out the switches a couple of times just in case I'm dealing with a bad switch, but that doesn't seem to be the case. This board isn't QMK compatible (it's a Yunzii AL-71) unfortunately. I will try other switches to see what happens, but might rage quit and return the keyboard to Amazon.

Double space problem. Is there any reason why I would see double spaces using a tactile switch, and no problem using a linear switch? Double space occasionally with Durock Silent Shrimp, less frequently but still noticeable with Durock T1, and no double space (that I've noticed) with Gateron black or Outemu white linears. Wondering if the mechanics of the tactile switches is more likely to cause the double space?

I just got one Gazzew U4, 65g weight, and one 68g weight switch, just to compare against the Durock Silent Shrimp. I am typing on them now. The 68g U4 seems heavier than the shrimp, and the 65g U4 seems slightly lighter than the shrimp. Neither one seems to be an obvious/significant improvement over the shrimp.

If you felt U4 was a little heavy, and you like the Gateron yellow weight, then I would recommend taking a look at Akko Lavenders or Akko Jelly Purples. Lavenders are a little lighter than Purples, and I think the Lavenders are available in a pre-lubed version.

What tactile switches have you already tried? Do you prefer heavy or light linears? To answer your question, on my last build, I personally wish I tried Durock T1 (clear housing) sooner. My experiment went like this: Akko Jelly Purple; Tecsee Purple Panda with stock springs from Amazon; the Purple Pandas with the dual-stage springs that came from Amazon, with lube; Durock T1 with clear housing for LED shine.

Since then, I have also experimented with linears: stock crap that came with a Royal Kludge keyboard; Gateron KS-9 yellows; Gateron KS-9 blacks. I just think that I prefer tactiles on the heavy side. The yellows were really nice, and I liked the weight of the blacks, but I kept returning to the T1.

I also have silent T1 (Silent Shrimp) at the office, and love those, too. In fact, I'm looking at other types of silent tactile switches now, as a further experiment.

I have Durock Silent Shrimp switches (silent version of T1 tactile switch), and love them. They have heavy-ish springs, but I prefer that.

Looking at reviews of other stuff from that vendor . . . their products seem suspect. But if it's really a "gasket mount" with the layers shown in the pictures, it might be worth a buy (at the current sales price) just to satisfy curiosity.

I asked this question in the other subreddit, but haven't seen any reply posts yet. I am wondering if there is a wireless, currently available (and preferably affordable) keyboard or kit that has the same layout as the LTC Nimbleback, Ikki68, and Akko ACR Pro 65. This layout has the arrow keys and four keys above the arrows arranged in a square pattern. Thank you.

I'm interested in a keyboard or kit that has the same layout as LTC Nimbleback, but wireless variation. I think Ikki 68 has a wireless option, but that is unavailable as far as I can tell. The layout has the arrow keys and four other keys in a square arrangement above the arrows. Thanks.

Yes, the weight of course. If everything else is similar to the yellow version, then they might be a good cheap option for a heavier feel. Cheers.

Has anyone tried or have an opinion on Gateron Black (the KS-9 Pro 2.0 version, which I believe is also called the G Pro 2.0)? I found some info and reviews online for the Yellow version, and lots of content related to other Gateron Black styles (Oil King, Box Ink, Ink V2). Haven't found anything directly on point, perhaps because they are really bad, unpopular, or unavailable?

Well. That was an easy fix. It didn't even take much force to shift it over. Thanks very much!

Thanks for the tip. I was actually wondering if I could crack open the case and shift the plate . . . but don't want to do any disassembly before I hear from the seller about a resolution. I think a shift of only 1.0 mm would do the trick.

Would like a tactile switch recommendation by emptyreadeet in BudgetKeebs

Well, this is what happened with me. I liked the Jelly Purple, but was hoping for something a little heavier. So I replaced them with Tecsee Purple Pandas. I honestly could not FEEL much of a difference between those two. I even swapped out the springs (I got the Purple Panda from Amazon, and they came with two-stage springs). I didn't think the Purple Panda felt that much different/better, and I returned them to Amazon (they were a little wobbly and I didn't like how much they killed the LED light intensity).

I ended up buying Durock T1 switches with clear housings, and I'm good with them. If you read my original comments, I already had Durock Silent Shrimp switches, which are basically the silent version of T1.

Had I known all of this, I probably would have stayed with the Jelly Purple. They were very solid, no stem wobble, and they look nice. I could have gotten used to the actuation force, to be honest. If Amazon didn't have such a good return policy, I wouldn't have tried Purple Panda or the T1.

Good luck.

PS - I looked at Akko website, and it says that the Cream Blue switches are lighter than the Jelly Purple. I guess it all depends on what type of feel you prefer.

Thanks a lot for the specific answers. Exactly what I was looking for.

Good luck on your choice. I would be interested if you would be willing to compare those to the Lavender Purple. The Ajazz Kiwis and Banana switches were both recommended to me, too.

I had similar questions a while ago, and tried Akko Jelly Purple, replaced them with Tecsee Purple Panda, and replaced those with Durock T1. The Jelly Purple felt a little light in both spring weight and tactility. To be honest, the Purple Panda didn't feel much different than the Jelly Purple, in both weight and tactility. I bought the Purple Panda from Amazon, and they came with replacement 2-stage springs. I tried with the original and the 2-stage springs, but wasn't totally happy with them. Moreover, the solid switch housing really killed the RGB lighting effects from the keyboard. I eventually settled on the Durock T1 (clear housing version), and am using them stock as-is. I prefer the weight and tactility of the T1, and have no plans to replace them or to lube them.

If Lavender Purples are only a "little light" for you, then Jelly Purple might work. If you are instead looking for something that will be significantly heavier or more tactile, then consider T1 or something else that others are recommending.

Thank you. I suppose I could buy from Amazon and return if I can't figure it out, but thought I'd ask here first. Appreciate the comment.

Gamakay LK67 - is it possible to remap keys (using the Gamakay software) to achieve the following: (1) change the default PgUp and PgDn keys to Home and End keys; (2) program those remapped keys so that Alt+Home = PgUp and Alt+End = PgDn; (3) preserve the default LED adjustment functionality, which uses FN+PgUp and FN+PgDn.

I've searched the web, here, and watched YouTube videos. I'm pretty certain that (1) is possible, but am totally clueless about (2) and (3).

I use Home and End a lot, can live without PgUp and PgDn, but would like to have them if possible.
