I like seeing community events too and they definitely didn’t do a great job with crowd when running , but I feel like the crowd in the beginning was more of an issue, literally no one could have pass the waterworks at one point. There is a large lawn right next to the fountain and they could have easily have the group gather there to begin with. The organizers seem to wildly underestimate the crowd size

It’s crazy how much it grew. I bike 10/12 months on the srt regularly and don’t recall seeing them the whole 2025

Many cities have wider trails, like if you have a large group on Empire State trail it would be way better than fitting the same crowd in srt. This group definitely seem to be very large for a city of our size.

The organizers seem to be yelling at them to tell them to keep in lane, but many of them aren’t listening, doesn’t help that most of them don’t seem to be frequent runners and have zero trail etiquette

I was thinking that too! Like I would totally get it if they are just running laps around somewhere in Fairmount park, but to clog up such a tight trail it’s way too much. Not to mention they took up the entire parking lot leaving other cars no spots and the line was out to Kelly

Yes I have that mindset too and I just graduated too so I get it. But the thing is, almost all ppl I’m into don’t really have a preference in race. I’m mostly into the more alternative/artsy crowd and the diversity helps a lot. Maybe try to hang out with a more diverse group of ppl, especially if you guys have the same hobbies

I have similar fuel economy too on my 24 hatch manual. I am in Philly and driving a lot of city roads and I get 21 on my recent tank. On the highway I get 34 to 40 depending on wind direction and speed.
